Ok, my dad just got a new laptop with Vista on it... he somewhat knows how to use a computer once I get everything set up for him. I am trying to setup his hotmail using Windows Mail (which I assume it the Vista version of what used to be Outlook Express) but it does not support HTML access... so I heard that the program freePOPS does this for you, converts the HTML to POP3 which Windows Mail can use...Anyone have any experiences using freepops? does it work? I dont want him to have anything complicated so once you install it does it run behind the scenes? Do I need to do this at all or is it possible to use Windows mail with hotmail some other way?

would it not just be easier to install something that DOES handle HTML? Thunderbird comes to mind. Essentially the same thing as Outlook and just as easy to use.

Never seen that, but I will look at it, the point is though I wanted it to be as close to what he was already use to as possible and also I dont use Thunderbird so if he had to call me for help I wouldnt be able to walk him through things exactly.

Download Thunderbird.Use it for a few minutes. Tell your dad how to use it.....Profit from it's superior spam-filtering abilities.
