for the test tommorow, can someone help me determine the velocities for jets 2 and 3 on the practice test? we haven't gone over anything in the verticle plane and I'm not sure how to put gravity into the equation.V=Q/A for pipe 1 (horizontal)pipe two and three are verticle like this the problem looks like this 2 |1----| | 3Q1=0.5distace from 3 to 2 is 4minside d=.12mjets at 2 and 3 d=.06mV1=.05/(pi/4 * .12^2)=4.421V2=6.624 ??howV3=11.060??how?

use the 2 bernoulli's equations and the from the mass balance you can get another equation Q1 = A2V2 + A3V3from those three equations you can solve for all the velocities of 2 and 3
