This was buried in the Yahoo bracket thread, but I was told to make a new thread. I've started a Wolf Web group on Yahoo for this seasons NCAA Men's Basketball tournament bracket pick-em hooha. Sign up if you so choose and let anyone else know about this thing who might not read Sports Talk. I'm not posting this in different forums. That's just silly. To sign up, go to the following link and click to join a private group. Use the Group ID and password below to join.http://tournament.fantasysports.yahoo.com/men/register/joingroupGroup Name: The Wolf Web AllstarsGroup ID: # 6926Password: trollOnce you're a member, you can direct link to the group below:http://tournament.fantasysports.yahoo.com/men/group/6926I assume this is the thread in which we can -a) post other groups (ESPN, etc) of anyone wants, andb) talk shit to each other or complain about how shitty our brackets are turning outBracket selection begins after Selection Sunday (3/11) and registration ends 3/15. There is also a limit of 250 members to a group, so set in on it while you can (though, perhaps we could make a Wolf Web Second String Backups group if need be). Pick smart!

2/28/2007 12:21:00 AM
Too bad I can't pick us to win it all.
2/28/2007 12:44:35 AM
I know, when I read that they had "fans of..." groups, I was excited, only to have my hopes dashed that APPARENTLY you can only be fans of teams who actually made the tournament... I also wanted to have an NIT bracket pick-em. Id host it on my website, but my coding abilities fall far short. If anyone can code that shit in PHP and would want to work on it, let me know. I think it would be awesome.

2/28/2007 4:05:34 PM
at that, it would look really shitty.. im not exactly one who can design
2/28/2007 4:10:42 PM
bump this shit...right now we have 22 users. Its looking like its shaping up to be a good, fun competition. As for me, I dont know a whole lot about the non-ACC teams as I dont follow sports news too much. I know I have a little more knowledge about random teams this year than I have in the past, but the majority of my picks will still either rely on reading up on the teams a little if I plan on making an informed decision, orrrr just flipping a coin. Who amongst us is also a coin-flipper?
3/1/2007 7:20:21 PM

btttWhat kind of things are taken into consideration for a team's RPI rating? I know it's nerdy as hell, but Im putting together some formulas in an attempt to pick teams based on these formulas for my remaining brackets, and thought about including RPI in one of the formulas. *shrug* Seems interesting.

Every time I do one of these, I wind up using it as my guide, then the shit gets torpedoed by 5pm of the first day of tourney games.
