The best college sports announcer is clearly Ron Franklin. That isn't even debatable. The best college basketball team is clearly McDonough, Bilas, and Raftery. I swear they do games drunk half the time. Listening to them commentate the Maui Invitational is comedic gold. They make fun of Candada, the Virgin Islands, and each other nonstop. Brilliant stuff really...

I agree that Ron Franklin does a great job with college football. A couple of years ago he worked with Mike Gottfried for the ESPN Saturday night games. I swear those two guys really did get drunk together in the booth. They had to seperate them and now Gottfried does the noon game on ESPN2. Its sad really.

Gottfried really did get toasted with Franklin and his speech is incredibly slow......Packer isn't all that bad. You guys are crazy if you think he has any bias toward UNC in the game last night. Packer absolutely hates UNC, if you look at the mastercard promo pic up above you see the clown is wearing a UNC shirt. Packer went to Wake, played in a final four, and has a very good knowledge of the game. However, he is above the age of 60, so yea, he misses some stuff with regards to Hansblow and the hangnail/contact. If you want to see some bias, watch when WAke plays a triangle team, then get mad, trust me, he hates UNC more than any team. And why were any of you "upset" when he said the game was over with 8+ minutes. We were amassing big foul trouble and our closest shots were contested and coming from 17 feet, you don't win that way, especially when you are down double digits and not playing any D whatsoever.
