how about my ion powered saab in space? I'm sure I could get 1 million miles fast.
2/21/2007 12:48:51 AM
saab didn't do shit for that guy with over a million on his. wonder if they changed their minds.
2/21/2007 12:49:40 AM
thats probably what made them do this free saab deal.unless its old

Remember VW did this for a friend of my parents in germany a while back. I don't remember what mileage was on his car but he had kept it in pristine condition and had well over 500k and they gave him a fully loaded new VW for it.

volvo does same thing, 1,000,000 miles = new car
2/21/2007 4:05:03 PM
if toyota did this they would lose their ass

amen to this. my saab is at 200,000 miles and still truckin. too bad im not the original owner and the guy that drove it a million miles got a brand new saab, his old saab is now in a museum or something.
2/22/2007 9:51:37 AM
Yes they did. They gave him a brand new Saab for free.

Might as well offer a million dollars to the first person to invent warp drive
2/22/2007 7:49:58 PM
yeah, he didn't get as much as a t-shirt and then they come back like months later and say "here's a free saab".
2/22/2007 9:36:24 PM
chassis dyno anyone???
2/22/2007 9:44:18 PM
it only took him 18 years--that's more than a thousand miles a week! wtf does he do that he needs to drive that much?!
2/26/2007 1:28:00 PM
1,000,000 miles / 20 mpg = 50,000 gallons of gas50,000 gallons * $2.20/gallon = $110,000 spent on gas if started at 0 miles**Even if you have put 500,000 miles already on the car it would cost $55,000 in gas to get it up to 1,000,000 miles and the car is not valued over $40,000**Not sure how mileage works with a car in neutral, but you still have to think about the power cost for the machine it would take to do this.Tampering would be the only way... and somehow you would have to prove it was not tampered with(maybe by tightening the screws back real tight on the odometer) oh well

time to buy a saab and start doctoring records...
2/26/2007 11:19:50 PM
it would be real easy to rig. but dont think saab will believe us.if i was an original saab owner from the 90s, then i would rig the tach to about 399999 miles or so.and each inspection i would just add on like 140000 miles or so. and by the time it was 2006, i would have 1 million milesor something, i dont know how all those #s add up
2/26/2007 11:24:08 PM
i dont even want a free saab
