I've got a similarly designed stand by Bulldog. Works fine, but it's a little difficult for one person to hold the bike upright while trying to insert the stand from behind. Never dropped one yet though.

I just got some from Moto 911 on ebay, $89.99 for both the front and rear. I havent used em yet but they look good so far, your welcome to come over and check em out if your want. http://www.moto911.com/product_info.php?cPath=4_38&products_id=408I looked around, and i dont think you can beat that price, $45 a stand is good if ya ask me.
2/13/2007 12:08:22 PM

2/13/2007 1:30:35 PM

2/13/2007 2:08:29 PM
sure, there not with my bike, but you can see the construction, materials, etc. PM me, and ill reply with my number if your interested.
2/13/2007 2:11:32 PM
with the spools do i have to install any parts on the bike?
2/13/2007 2:39:28 PM
yea... Spools
2/13/2007 2:45:19 PM
screw handy's, my friend has em and they suck. I'd personally get a pitbull or vortex stands. But they are expensive. I got some cheap ass no-name brand shits that I just absolutely hate and one knob on the front already broke off. I'd also prolly invest in the front stand that holds the bike up under the rake/bottom tripple tree. You can take the forks off and work with them off the bike.
2/13/2007 3:45:10 PM
I mean how shitty really are the handys?
2/13/2007 4:21:30 PM
^^ second pit bulls. but they will set you back for twice the price of handys. at least.
2/13/2007 4:23:34 PM
^12 jon got a set of those
2/13/2007 4:38:58 PM
Im tryign to save money with stands not spend more...I am not going to have the bike apart every weekend, just lookign for somethign that owudl allow me to install tires and shit
2/13/2007 4:39:46 PM
Seriously, invest the money now for a good set of adjustable stands so you can keep them for the next bike too. Having finicky stands suck and I have almost dropped the bike a few times when trying to prop them up. luckily they all have fallen on top of me where I could save it. My front is awful now and I'll end up buying a 2nd pair of stands (pitbull most likely) just to replace these crappy ones that are broken.
2/13/2007 4:45:51 PM
yea jon's started to crack after i sat on the gas tank while he was trying to un-torque the front axle and he picked the whole bike up
2/13/2007 4:51:36 PM
i remember that. lol fun day.
2/13/2007 6:07:02 PM
2/13/2007 6:45:00 PM

2/13/2007 10:06:07 PM
I use the Handys stands on my 929 and have no problems with them at all. Cant beat them for the price.

i'd give my vote to pitbull hands down. igor got a set of them shits and they are amazing. like i said jon has a set of dmp's and they're ok, but dont fit my bike right all the time. another friend of mine (ricky) got a set of suzuki stands, they fit my bike perfect but have to be bent in width to fit any other bike. the worst set of stands you could possible own is the ones that pick up by the swingarm and through the bottom of the fork.
2/14/2007 7:31:23 AM
Well which stands from pitbull woudl you reccommend
2/14/2007 10:22:10 AM
the ones that fit your bike
2/14/2007 5:30:51 PM
i pick up the rear wheel of the r1 with a regular car jack under the dogbone while leaning it on the sidestand since my rear stand is for single-sided arm. workd out pretty well so far
2/14/2007 6:26:30 PM
what's the deal with your hawk?
2/14/2007 9:00:32 PM
got all my parts in puttin it together this weekend
2/15/2007 8:07:34 AM
You can do the same thing with 2x12's and concrete bricks... Shit, I primarily used that ghetto method when rebuilding the RR...

http://www.powerstands.com/acb/showdetl.cfm?&DID=31&Product_ID=54&CATID=1any thoughts on these.

For the price, I'd rather just get a rear pitbull and have easy setup. I've seen similar stands to that, but I'd expect it to be a little harder to use and setup then conventional stands. If you only have like 100 bucks to spend, just get a rear stand then pick up a few concrete blocks and a car jack for working on the front end. Just when you work on the front, just take the lower and side fairings off, use the car jack to lift the bike off the ground by placing the lift on the oil pan, place blocks and wood on top of that, then set the bike down on its headers on the blocks and wood. Its quite easy if you have a buddy there with you, but I've done it myself. after setting the bike down, I put concrete blocks on the side as well to prevent the bike from tipping.
