parts express has a few different options, $33 for 100' of 2 conductor 14ga.but for longer runs, especially in-wall, it might be worth finding wire with a ground wire in it to prevent interference. we had some interference, mainly in the video signal, with our in-wall wiring. and A ground wire will fix that?should i just run it under the carpet near the baseboard to keep that 60hz signal out?

eh, it did for us with the video signal. it was about a 35 ft run for that, but close to 50 for the main speakers. the interference we saw was occasional horizontal lines on the screen, and by grounding one end (it's just a tiny, like 26ga, wrapped around the two signal wires) to the wall faceplate helped clean it up. If we weren't doing in-wall, parellelling power cables, we wouldn't have worried.we picked up spools of the stuff that had teflon coating and was very flexible, made routing very simple.[Edited on February 11, 2007 at 2:01 PM. What on earth are you doing where you need 12 guage speaker wire? Are you sending 1000 Watts per channel or something?
2/11/2007 4:05:32 PM
speakers 1000ft away
2/11/2007 5:01:02 PM
^ He only wants 50-100 feet.
2/11/2007 6:19:28 PM
Around the ceiling 250 watts/channel and CLARITY!
2/11/2007 7:22:00 PM
twas a joke
2/11/2007 8:00:18 PM
you think youre going to couple enough 60hz to make an audible sound when he is convinced he is sending 250W to a pair of speakers?
2/11/2007 10:06:20 PM
hahaha i know i'm not actually sending 250 watts because the power supply nor the power cable too my amp could handle that i just figured for 30 bucks for 100 yrds of 12 ga isn't too shabby
2/11/2007 10:38:52 PM
and i don't actually have the 250 watts its just planned in the futurei have a yammi amp now... but i'm setting up for a rotel amp and pre-amp
