I got a game off of Amazon.com and it hasn't arrived after a few weeks of supposingly being shipped. Here's the tracker information:

Service Type: Delivery Confirmation - Package Services/Standard Parcels

Shipment Activity Location Date &
Time
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Electronic Shipping CAPITOL HEIGHTS MD 20799
01/22/07 7:38pm
Info Received
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

from the website:

Status: Electronic Shipping Info Received

The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on January 22, 2007 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later.

wtf. Anyone ever have trouble with this kind of non-delivery?

One time.

I probably order from Amazon 5-10 times a year (mostly Christmas stuff), and there was this keyboard/mouse combo I ordered like 2 years ago that said shipped, but after like 1.5 weeks never arrived. I called up Amazon (google for their phone number), told 'em my stuff hadn't arrived and I suspected it was lost, and they shipped me another free 2-day air.

Amazon seriously had retardedly great customer service, give them a call.

was it sold by amazon.com, or a third party seller?

makes a big difference.

Well I don't know, it was actually my Mom that ordered it as a birthday gift but I figured it'd be easier to say I ordered a game.

But, I'm guessing it was

Yeah, it's Amazon sold. Give 'em a call before worrying anymore & just see what they say.

You ordered from Capitol Heights? The truck was most likely hijacked.

Yea, it probably 'fell off the truck' like how one of my co-workers gets good deals at Best Buy,

they might've sent it Media Mail (can you get delivery confirmation on MM?), in which case it can take up to 6 weeks to get there.

^You can get a confirmation with media mail. Media mail is hit or miss sometimes it's almost as fast as regular mail sometimes it can take 3-4 weeks. I ship a lot of books and cd's, but I've never had one take more than 3 weeks to arrive at its destination.

i had this problem with art.com, i just called them and they sent me a duplicate order air mail. The bigger companies are usually very good about this stuff if you just call them up.

and if ^^ is right they'll at least be able to confirm that.

i've had the same problem everytime something is shipped through USPS. they never update their tracking information. i ordered a swimsuit a month ago and it took forever to get here (i didn't have any other shipping option).

give it time, it'll eventually show up. emailing amazon, the retailer, or USPS will get you nowhere, btw.

That actually works in your favor, not the best, but better than it could be. Means USPS didnt get it (most likely) or didnt track it (less likely), as the actual delivery confirmation-when the mail guy actually throws your shit into your box- usually updates fairly quickly. Since USPS doesnt even have record of receiving that package, amazon shouldnt give you much hassle. Call em up and they'll prolly say it was out of stock or lost.

That's pretty typical for 'tracking' with USPS.

i really this it's more likely that USPS is not tracking your package.

Well my experience with Amazon has always been really fast deliveries, within the week. Only when we order from other smaller websites (like one for roof cleaner solution) does it take a while.

With the tracking being electronic I would guess that they would have received the package by now and have scanned it in. Even if that isn't the case here, its been about 3 weeks (the game released on Jan 16, we had preorder) since it should've shipped, so it should've been here at the most last week in my opinion.

It's entirely possible that UPS fucked up and dropped it off elsewhere, that's happened to me a few times actually.

^I left out the extra S by accident. But I've had similar results from both companies unfortunately.
