A relatively new independent film on the rise of evangelical Christianity in America and their influence on politics. Particular emphasis is given to the indoctrination of children. What are your thoughts?http://www.jesuscampthemovie.com[Edited on February 6, 2007 at 12:58 PM. Reason : trailer]

I've been trying to rent it, but Blockbuster keeps not having it.Nothing in there should really come as a shock to most of us, especially those who got dragged to Bible Camp or some such. I'm going to try to raise my kids into my religion, sure, but no way in hell am I sending them to anything scarier than Sunday School.

I've seen this movie (and the HBO one that's similar) and all I can say is that I feel sorry for these children. The families they presented in this documentary were essentially brainwashing their children through homeschooling with christian-prepared science books and the like. The camp was also pretty bad. And using the children to protest abortion is moronic. They taught the kids phrases like 'What if we aborted the next President?' What if we aborted the next Hitler? The movie pretty much disgusted me.

that kid levi is pretty clever, i'm sure he'll grow out of itthe camp was wrong on so many levels. the lady running it pretty much admitting that she could brainwash the kids because she had "the truth", which effectively means all kids should be brainwashed

Take over is a strong phrase for what they've done, but Bush is definitely an evangelical and most of them have no problem trying to erode the barrier between church and state. Heck, I know a few people who claim the liberals are trying to make christianity illegal in the US. Considering a LARGE majority of America consists of christians I doubt they'd outlaw their own religion.

the difference between the evangelical christian movement and any other cult is the number of people.i was raised christian, although not practicing at the time being, i do not have a problem with people living the "christian" life. But fuck you if you are going to try to press your values and morals on me and try to control how i live my life.[Edited on February 6, 2007 at 5:01 PM. Reason : l]
