2/3/2007 8:58:56 AM
hahayou think if he'd ever shown so much enthusiasm here people might have liked him more?[Edited on February 3, 2007 at 9:06 AM. Reason : PAST TENSE]

i can't imagine how awkward the whole situation would've seemed to a State student who'd seen him in action beforeat campout two years ago, Herb shows up with Oblinger bearing pizza for a pep speech of sorts. He starts the deal with something to the effect of, "Thank you guys so much for coming out here... your presence out here, it lifts me."Lots of of , shoulder shrugs, and awkward silence followed until one guy started hollering and the rest of us all followed cue - it was really sad in a really sad kind of wayso maybe he's just trying to get off on a different foot out there, a livelier one, because he's seen what and where stoicism got him on the sidelines... namely, off of the ones in Raleigh[Edited on February 3, 2007 at 9:16 AM. haha hes used to the crowd cheering form coaching here.then he gets to ASU, loses 11 straight and finds the crown non-responsive. who woulda thunk. he must be desperate tho. he looked like a dead man who the asst. coaches propped up every now and then on our sidelines. now hes all jumping around and yelling at the crown and getting thrown out of the game.
2/3/2007 9:14:49 AM
how long before he grabs a player by the throat?
2/3/2007 9:21:00 AM
thats down right pitifulif he had of shown some emotion like that at ncstate then he might still be around
2/3/2007 9:22:07 AM
he did, I guess nobody was watching. In fact, he used to do the exact same thing here that he did there, he just never got ejected for it.[Edited on February 3, 2007 at 9:26 AM. Reason : ]
2/3/2007 9:23:18 AM
hahaah, "I fucking love that man"
2/3/2007 9:23:31 AM
Yeah Herb started out last season as an absolute loon. He'd jump and scream and slap Evtimov and just generally act like a madman. As the season went on he seemed to get more and more tired and eventually just stood there and looked like he was begging the guys to do something instead of coaching.
2/3/2007 9:36:54 AM
that is completely absurd. No one was more ready for him to go than i was, but he used to turn to the crowd and do that ALL THE TIME!!...give the man some credit...and screw that ref

2/3/2007 10:02:53 AM
wow, 0-10?he'll last another year or two, I thinkthen end up at West Central Mississippi School For the Deaf, Dumb, and Blind and Retardation Rehabilitation Center
2/3/2007 10:55:12 AM
Or maybe when he gets some players he recruits, he will actually start winning more.
2/3/2007 10:56:24 AM
like he did here?
2/3/2007 11:01:35 AM
Actually, just like he did here. I still don't understand how anyone can complain about what Sendek did for us.
2/3/2007 11:06:28 AM
i'm sure ASU would be plenty happy to go to the NCAA's for 5 years in a row, have some 1st round draft picks
2/3/2007 11:09:15 AM
Considering his team sucks talent wise and the Pac-10 is the most loaded conference in the country, 0-10 isn't that bad of a record given the situation.Give the man some time.NCSU's team sucks right now with Sidney Lowe, but you guys aren't calling for his head, why? Oh right, he doesn't have his players here.(Don't get me wrong, I love Lowe and our team I'm just making an example)
2/3/2007 11:15:06 AM
[OLD]....see Official ASU Threadbut I guess still worth repeating because ASU fans are geekin like crazy over Herb right now. They don't give a damn about the record, they just like to see in game adjustments and passion (which Herb is giving them). down 23 at halftime to Washington, Herb changed defenses and started pounding the ball down low and cut it to 3 points with a minute or so left in the game.they absolutely love Herb.
2/3/2007 11:15:22 AM
good... i hope he dominates the PAC-10. I hate everything west coast.

2/3/2007 11:43:46 AM

2/3/2007 12:05:28 PM
who is that man?
2/3/2007 12:10:26 PM
That pose right there looks like something out of a Michael Jackson video.
2/3/2007 12:12:31 PM
Oh god, Herb has the Power Collar
2/3/2007 12:31:04 PM
Pretty gay of pac10 to do that. Still, dumb of Herb to give up 4 points and get kicked out during a comeback.
2/3/2007 12:41:31 PM
How is the cheering an "undesirable response"?
2/3/2007 12:43:15 PM
2/3/2007 1:25:44 PM
I don't understand this at allwhat are people in the crowd supposed to do? sit quietly and read a book or something?
2/3/2007 1:35:16 PM
im curious what the asu message boards were saying about herb before the hire and what they are saying now
2/3/2007 1:36:48 PM
herb didn't cut it to 3, he was in the locker room at that point. what he did do was cut a 23-point lead down to 10 before being thrown out, which is still impressive. after the 4 technical shots the lead was increased to 14.
2/3/2007 1:47:42 PM
^^ASU loves Herb. The last coach was FIRED, not RUN OFF for a reason....they have NO talent at all. You guys think our team has little talent...if you would watch an ASU game you would know that Nieman would be their best player. His recruiting class for next year is already top 20.
