Best player in college basketball deserves his own thread. He should be the #1 pick in this year's draft regardless if Oden comes out. Tonight at Texas Tech37 pts, 23 RBsLeading the Big 12 in PPG and RPG.

He is pretty damn good although you'd be hard pressed to find a 7'1 Center with Oden's potential. I'd have a hard time picking between those two if I was an NBA owner.

hahaha

Durant is Kevin Garnett with more range - I love watching him play. No one can stop him and he is a dominant player. He needs muscle, but overall he's a force. Oden just hasn't impressed me much yet, but of course he's not a selfish as Durant and plays on a better team so his opportunities are limited. I'd draft Durant just because he's fucking exciting and will put people in the seats. If Oden was charismatic like Shaq, then maybe I'd lean towards him, but it sounds like he may stay at OSU for another year anyway.[Edited on January 31, 2007 at 11:10 PM. The learning curve from college to the NBA gets more substantial with height. Durant is great, but Oden's potential is greater in my opinion, and the NBA drafts a lot off of potential
2/5/2007 9:28:36 PM
Acie Law ftw.
2/5/2007 10:00:29 PM
Oden's getting up there in years, though, by the looks of him. Don't know how much he's got left in the tank.
2/5/2007 10:04:59 PM
I think good true centers are a little more valuable in the nba. Wade couldn't do it without shaq, Lebron can't get past the second round on his own, Melo can't either. But the Duncan's and Shaq's of the world make a big difference... I'm glad I'm not a gm though, it's not a decision i'd like to be responsible for...

So is Billy Gillespie going to go try and fight Rick Barnes because his players are hacking the crap out of Durant? What would Rick Barnes do?[Edited on February 5, 2007 at 11:13 PM. Reason : tamu is pretty damn good...]
2/5/2007 11:07:40 PM
Gillespie has turned that program around. good for them
2/5/2007 11:17:04 PM
This decision is completely based on a team's needs. Ordinarily the tie goes to the big man. Remember, Oden is putting up really good numbers with only one hand. It is also common knowledge that big men have take longer to develop. I think Durant may still have the better career. But if Charlotte gets the 1st pick, they should choose Durant. But a team lacking an inside force (nets, wizards, sac) then they should get Oden.

Oden really does look fucking old. Lebron did too. wtf
2/6/2007 6:45:05 AM
Durant is freaking ridiculous. Texas may need to go back to Durant every possession like they did to start the game. It's unreal seeing one guy battle it out with a team as talented as KU.KU and UNC are the 2 most talented teams in the country IMO.
3/11/2007 2:47:45 PM
^^Ohio is a rough state man lol
3/11/2007 2:48:48 PM
Robert Parish I mean Greg Oden hasn't been carded since 1998
3/11/2007 2:51:06 PM
Durant's gonna have 45-50 by the time this game is over

leaving the door open for a return, which is fine. that is, until he sees the millions waved in his face from being the #1 pick. there's a time for good players to return to school, but this isn't one of them
3/30/2007 4:57:32 PM
take the moneyand take brandan, tyler and ty with you!
3/30/2007 5:04:58 PM
yeah i didn't realize how amazing some of the other stats were too...i mean to lead your team in steals AND blocks? that's like he's playing every position on the floor. just amazing
3/30/2007 9:58:01 PM
isn't he the one that still attends all his classes and is maintaining like a 3.5 GPA? last I heard, Lawson hasn't been to class since January...
