Best setup for hooking the iPod up to the headunit? For mine I just spent four dollars on a y-audio cable and hooked it up to the aux RCA jacks on the back of my new stereo. Then I ran the wire under the trim and let the headphone jack hang out in the cup holder (the most convenient spot to put the iPod). It was significantly cheaper than getting the special connector for my radio that would hook up and charge and control the iPod (I'd rather just control it through the iPod since the interface is quick and easy and I already paid for it).

alpine was one of the first to see the ipod potential and integrate it into their hus. they have by far the best and fastest interface for an ipod. they can be had for extremly cheap used(like most car audio). i think some1 was selling the 9855 w. ipod connector for like $2xx in the classifieds.your other option would be what mindstorm did and just get any hu with an aux in. there are a few drawbacks to that though1) won't charge ipod2) you'll lose sound quality3) hu and ipod controls are independant ie. u have to adjust both volumes etc.[Edited on February 1, 2007 at 3:42 AM. Well I was gonna try to integrate to the stock one but decided thats just silly since the cost of the interface is close to the cost of a headunit.
