i hope he don't go back to slanging yayoslanggin yayo...to get my mayo
1/30/2007 5:46:31 PM
good for the refand I agree with Wilbon. mayo is a punk and deserves a kick in the teeth
1/30/2007 5:46:39 PM
what a bitch move by the refmayo looked like a punk too but still a bitch move by the ref
1/30/2007 5:48:42 PM
Did the ref trip and fall after he was bumped? Or get scared and decide to fall down and play beaten?Or does he actually expect us to believe he was bumped that hard?[Edited on January 30, 2007 at 6:06 PM. Reason : ?]
1/30/2007 6:05:08 PM
the real question is, in that video can you see mayo's awesome haircut?
1/30/2007 6:08:14 PM
I dig it actually.

^^there was actually some contact on that flop.........there appeared to be no contact whatsoever in the ref flop[Edited on January 30, 2007 at 7:02 PM. Reason : fg]
1/30/2007 7:01:46 PM
^^^ that doesn't even count b/c it's soccer, they consider flopping an artform over there.
1/30/2007 7:05:50 PM
its may, yo
1/30/2007 7:10:21 PM
either the ref just tripped or Mayo tripped him (which isnt on cam)
1/30/2007 7:19:46 PM
I usually listen to wilbon but this is nonsensethat was a flop of epic proportions and that ref should be ashamed of himself.
1/30/2007 9:06:47 PM
^ it was a flop, but mayo shouldn't be bumping refs to begin with. fact.
1/30/2007 9:46:56 PM
after the game Mayo took out a gas station http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070130/ap_on_re_us/gas_station_explosion
1/30/2007 10:04:55 PM
at first i was: "That ref is a bitch, he didnt even get touched"but i watched it again and was: "Why the fuck was mayo charging after the ref in the first place?"
1/31/2007 12:16:33 AM
^ exactly.
1/31/2007 12:29:23 AM
He was probably trying to argue getting a technical for not saying anything to anybody (the patented Cameron Bennerman technical)
1/31/2007 12:37:19 AM
so i guess nobody went to cameron to see him play tonight?
1/31/2007 12:39:41 AM
^my friend did........said he was a douche and a ballhog
1/31/2007 12:51:49 AM
the game he had on espn2 was not impressive. didn't look at all like a guy who would go straight to the nba if he could.
1/31/2007 1:17:14 AM
1/31/2007 3:35:31 AM
i was at all 3 games last night. taylor king was the best player there...everybody around us was calling him larry bird...he had 32.mayo sucked in the first half and didn't hustle. the second half he was impressive especially on the play where he made it across the court in about half a second to save a ball and crash into the bleachers...then hit a 3. he's no lebron but he is an incredible passer.
1/31/2007 8:24:20 AM
we can't see the feet, maybe he stepped on the guys foot and tripped him
1/31/2007 8:47:17 AM
i saw him. he had 16, fouled out near the end. they were #3 playing #2 artesia, from LA. he wasnt that impressive, but he could take over whenever he wanted. seemed like he didnt want to do too much. definitely the quickest guard ive seen in a while. his 3pt shooting is horrible. patrick patterson is the best player on his team. that kid is sick. i hope he goes to WVU, but i think hell go to duke. ps, the best player there by far was taylor king, from mater dei hs. he dropped 32 on oak hill and shot like 75% from the floor. kid can get his shot off from anywhere and seems like the prototypical duke player (pisses you off to the point where you just want to punch him in his face, pats the refs butt during TOs, etc.)
1/31/2007 1:36:38 PM
^yeah king was awesome...i think the best player other than king was renardo sidney. he is the best soph post player i have ever seen in high school and was VERY tough on patrick patterson. http://tinyurl.com/24kbte has some pics of him. he's already on the nba draft sites and was extremely impressive. he's interested in ucla and usc, which makes sense since he moved to cali for high school ball...but this kid is for real. remember his name.brandon jennings, the pg for oak hill was nasty too.
1/31/2007 5:02:45 PM
Jennings is the kid that has a soft verbal to USC but I still think will end up playing at UConn... He always brings up UConn even when he is talking about his commitment to USC. My bet is that it will come down to AJ Price maturing. If Price looks like he'll leave after next year I bet Jennings ends up in Storrs..
1/31/2007 5:07:01 PM
jennings was impressive, but if i had my rathers...here is who i would sign first out of all the players there.1. taylor king...he plays like dirk and larry bird...very hard to stop...he looks goofy and will catch grief, but is going to be an incredible player at duke2. renardo sidney...as a soph this kid is incredible...he had the quickest drop step move i've ever seen and then dunked on patrick patterson (duke is after him hard, which was evident by all the key players and coaches staying to watch him play)3. brandon jennings...the kid has heart and great court presence. he plays on both ends of the court and has a sweet jumper...he's been on and 1 mixtape before, but is smart on the court4. oj mayo...when he WANTS to play...he is great, but that's only half the time. he was very lazy even with this being a huge showcase at cameron indoor stadium. there were a few plays he was really impressive, and he's a great passer, but i don't think he will work very hard and he seems to think he's lebron-esque already...he's a punk basically5. patrick patterson...great post player with excellent passing ability. he seems to be extremely smart on the court and is a great shot blocker6. nolan smith...when he wanted to handle the ball, he flew past everyone. he dribbled for 17 seconds around the entire team when they were trying to foul because nobody could catch him. he's no offensive powerhouse, but he'll be a nate james type player at duke...decent on offense, but a smart, defensive stopper7. the wear twins...unc is after them hard, two 6'10" white boys that hustle their balls off. they know the game and were very smart and great passers for interior players. they are as thin as rails, but i think they'll be solid contributors at the college levelremember all of those names because you'll see them a lot in the future. this is my high quality sports post of the day...please appreciate it i'm off to global risk class now[Edited on January 31, 2007 at 5:29 PM. http://www.draftexpress.com/headlines.php#2526Yeah. So this kid is going to get SC on probation... the writing is on the wall. Talk about setting the stage for the inmates to run the asylum..Are we honestly supposed to believe that this kid decided, one day, out of the blue to pick SC? Yeah, ok.. Mayo has been handed more shit than God to play at SC...[Edited on March 21, 2007 at 12:49 PM. Reason : x]
3/21/2007 12:47:41 PM
can you imagine orange juice flavored mayonnaise?
3/21/2007 1:12:10 PM
i like how the news crew was there while mayo was getting his citation. i'm guessing one of the cops tipped them off.
3/21/2007 1:14:15 PM
^I can't put my finger on it, but that doesn't seem kosher at all.1. He wants to be in LA because it will make a name for himself for the NBA.2. He wanted to go to a black college, not known for sending guys to the NBA.3. He picked USC over UCLA, even when the COACH was like, wtf. What a douche.
3/21/2007 1:18:04 PM
3/21/2007 2:29:22 PM
To be honest with you, Syracuse when Carmelo was there was a pretty talented team. Yeah I think they were in the NIT in 2001, but the Cuse has always fielded strong teams. Carmelo had Hakim Warrick and McNamarra there with him. USC right now has some decent players, but not really any you'd consider elite level. Just goes to show you how good of a coaching job Tim Floyd has done this year.
3/21/2007 2:33:12 PM
interestingthe initial link is now a link to the video about mayo getting busted for weed lol
3/21/2007 2:54:25 PM
yeah, if you go a few videos further in the sequence (**54 i think) you get the ref video.

3/21/2007 3:32:56 PM
aha, the ref flopped! wtf?! hahahahahahaha!!! i was expecting a violent act with the way the media has reported the incident.[Edited on March 21, 2007 at 4:28 PM. Reason : ]
3/21/2007 4:27:36 PM
you shouldn't be asking 'did the ref flop?'you should be asking, 'why was a highschool player bumping a ref like that?'
3/21/2007 5:01:46 PM
and why the second technical was called and he was ejected from the game. and i could not see anything that oj did (to the ref) as being worthy of suspension.
3/21/2007 5:12:02 PM
I'm always one to persecute a thug but this was rediuclous, the ref like jumped on the ground, and it looked like mayo was just heading for the bench
3/21/2007 6:05:35 PM
If I was going to go to college for a year, not go to class, and be a top pick in the NBA draft one year later... i'd probably pick USC or UCLA as well.
3/21/2007 6:23:08 PM
he's overrated...that's my take after seeing him in person.
3/21/2007 6:29:05 PM
after having read and heard about some of the shit he's been doing, i hope mayo busts both knees and the usc coach gets fired.
3/21/2007 6:49:49 PM
i never saw him in person, but i watched huntington play dematha over christmas break on espnu. was not impressed with mayo. shot a lot, missed a lot. patrick patterson, on the other hand, was money.
3/21/2007 7:47:34 PM
^i've seen patterson in person as well...he's awesome in the paint.
