Right now I only have WPA ability in the wireless utility, but was wondering if there was an updated (homebrew or something) that lets me use a more modern encryption scheme. I'd also like to know if you could use a different model's utility program, or if there are any that might be compatible.I've looked on google for WAB501 and WPA, but I haven't found anything useful.Thanks.

it seems odd that your wireless could ONLY use WPA, as WEP is the earlier form of encryption...WPA IS the "more modern encryption scheme"

I'm guessing he means radius and not wpa-psk

radius is overkill for a home network

i would think anything more than WEP-128 is overkill for a home network...i suppose if you live in an apartment SOMEONE could spend all day attempting to break it...but that's highly unlikely

^ 5-20 minutes worst case to break WEP-128. Couple of hours to a day or so to break WPA

^ Yea, I wish...i've got about 5hrs or so invested in my first WEP cracking attempt. But you're right...once I do it once I'm sure it will go quicker after that.

There are linux tools that'll do it for you. All you need is to be within signal range.
