OLD
1/29/2007 1:14:20 PM
1/29/2007 1:15:48 PM
its just that.... i dont think a lot of us have a lot of passion for a horse, or a lot of memories of sitting down with friends and getting really pumped up for his races... basically a useless thread

ya it's not old.it's sad because barbaro had a good shot to be an amazingly dominant horse. unfortunate spook :x[Edited on January 29, 2007 at 1:25 PM. Reason : /]

shit, I just read in the paper this morning that his condition got worse, but I had no idea an Abicass (spell) is that serious to kill'em the next day!
1/29/2007 1:26:24 PM
never understood why this was newswe've got folks sending in cards, flowers, and other random crap to a horse they never met while people down the street are starvingAnd for goodness sakes, sure it's a horse, but it was the owners GOLD MINE. whole thing was blown way outta proportion
1/29/2007 1:27:09 PM
the same reason people other than babe ruth's family attended his funeral.Just because horse racing isnt big here doesn't mean it isnt anywhere else. In fact I'd say we're an exception to the rule.Barbaro was very popular and a tremendous horse. people sent flowers for the same reason we have pet cemeterys inplace of throwing our dogs in the trash.well as I'd heard the abscess (<-- spelling) was beginning to progress and eat away at the bone in his right foot.the inserted some steel rods to stabalize it, but decided that the horse would no longer beable to walk or move without pain and it was the right time to euthanize the horse[Edited on January 29, 2007 at 1:36 PM. ^^I dunno, maybe b/c horses don't control their own destiny. Go have fun in SB or something.[Edited on January 29, 2007 at 1:30 PM. Reason : ^]

that is sad. my heart sunk when he went downi don't know why everyone cares so much about 9/11...it's not like many of us knew someone killed then [Edited on January 29, 2007 at 1:59 PM. Reason : .]
1/29/2007 1:35:47 PM
haha... the glue picture...they should make some glue out of him and if they auctioned it it'd probably go for 6 figures and the winner would be like... thats elmers glue made from the legendary barbaro... some people...
1/29/2007 1:36:01 PM
Poor boy... I can't say I'm too surprised by the outcome, but it's amazing he fought as long as he did. I know some people don't understand what the big deal is, but if you watch the footage of Barbaro breaking down I think you'll see why people were so invested in this horse. Luckily his euthanization had nothing to do with his inability to earn his owners money. He was in pain; he would never be able to walk again. At least he was loved.
1/29/2007 1:43:52 PM
its a fucking horse .. who gives a shit
1/29/2007 2:16:01 PM
^ the owners who were making millions off of him -- most of it coming from him railing other horses...

for everybody saying "its a fucking horse who cares" or "who cares? its a fucking horse"if they had to put gavin grant to sleep...some people who didnt care about basketball would be like "who cares he's a fucking basketball player"
1/29/2007 3:39:32 PM

1/29/2007 3:47:29 PM
I know the point you were going for. I just blasted a huge fucking hole in the middle of it.
1/29/2007 3:50:49 PM
not really considering my point was about people caring about sports or not, not the difference between people and animalsthis is sports talk after all, not fucking debate zoological differences and corresponding human emotions
1/29/2007 3:51:43 PM
you probably never a took a class on rhetoric or logic when you were in school.
1/29/2007 3:52:53 PM
what kind of logic did you use to make that false assumptionprobably the same dumb logic you used to incorrectly assume my point about barbaro/gavin
1/29/2007 3:53:33 PM
you probably definitely never a took a class on rhetoric or logic when you were in school.
1/29/2007 3:53:46 PM

^^you probably definitely showered no more than once a week when you were in school
1/29/2007 3:54:39 PM
1/29/2007 3:55:23 PM
when you have to say "you're missing my point" after every point you try to make, something must be wrong.
1/29/2007 3:56:19 PM
nothing to add about the horse or horse racing? didnt think so
