An earlier discussion led me to thinking about Marian Theology, and I'm wondering since the Blessed Virgin Mary is Coredemptrix of mankind ...who participated in the salvation of the human family alongside her son The Lord Christ Jesus, Son of God Almighty, who sits in Judgement of all mankind ...who was called upon by the archangel Gabriel at the Annunciation where she gave of her body to the Holy Spirit who conceived in her, in a manner completely without sin, a child who was our Redeemer, our Savior equally both God and man, fully human, fully divine, but without any sin Himself and was brought forth in a Virgin Birth so as to be completely without blemish ...who sat at the foot of the Cross, suffering for the crucifixion of her son, this woman who was an instrument of God was herself also without sin, a virgin in body and spirit, who remained after the birth in a state of Perpetual Virginity, so as to remain without sin, for the days of her life....what I'm wondering is, that given Pharasiac Law in 1st Century Palestine, from the Scriptures of the Hebrew Torah and the Greek Septuagint, that there necessarily be a period of uncleanness regarding the blood flow ....would the Blessed Mother, the Perpetual Virgin Mary, have monthly menstrual periods requiring her to be isolated during her uncleanness? Or did she get a "pass" on the whole isolation thing since she was obviously not just your average bleeder? Or did the powers of Perpetual Viginity also grant her releif from menstrual periods?and on a side note, in the 1st Century Judean Desert, what exactly were the options for feminine hygene products available? did they use like a lambskin pad or plug, or would they just use any old rag, or would they just let it run free and wash up later?[Edited on January 29, 2007 at 12:48 AM. Mary wasn't a perpetual virgin. She had sons and daughters by Joseph. Jesus had half brothers.

And Mary wasn't without Sin. Only Jesus was without Sin, which is why He was considered perfect. Mary and the Saints of Catholicism should not be prayed to for just this reason. They were only human on Earth, and were sinful like the rest of us. Yes, they should be looked up to as examples of righteousness, but not to be prayed to.

Yes, they should be looked up to as examples of righteousness, but not to be prayed to.Everything in the bible is either make-believe or a wildly-distorted version of something that really did occur but wasn't nearly as magical or miraculous.

^ So what is the point in asking family and friends to pray for you then?Of course if you don't believe in prayer at all its all the same to you. But if you've ever asked a friend to pray for you or a loved one, then wouldn't it make sense to ask someone a whole lot closer to God then they are?

James 5:16 - Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.Hebrews 4:15-16 - For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.About saints, Psalm 16:1-3 - Keep me safe, O God, for in you I take refuge. I said to the LORD, "You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing." As for the saints who are in the land, they are the glorious ones in whom is all my delight. (emphasis mine)Acts 9:32 - Now as Peter was traveling through all those regions, he came down also to the saints who lived at Lydda.Acts 9:41 - And he gave her his hand and raised her up; and calling the saints and widows, he presented her alive.Romans 1:7 - to all who are beloved of God in Rome, called as saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.Romans 8:26-27 - In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. (emphasis mine)1 Corinthians 1:2 - To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who have been sanctified in Christ Jesus, saints by calling, with all who in every place call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours:
