Site is being kind of sluggish for some reason, but meh. Roomate ordered one of those and it was here in 2 days. It's currently set up in his room and he's loving it.

My only real problems with a tv like that are that there's no tuner (HD or otherwise) and not very many hookups.

If you have digital cable or satellite, the lack of a tuner isn't a problem. If you don't have too many devices OR have a receiver that does HDMI and composite passthrough, then the second thing isn't a problem either. Anyways, for image quality at under 600 bucks it's really hard to beat.

Yeah, looks like frys has a good price on that one. Just be aware of the 3 series' limitations in terms of inputs and tuners. That'll feel like a good sized set for most appartments, though if you really want bigger and under 700 price point I'd go DLP.

IF you're connecting more than 2 or 3 HD/progessive scan sources (xbox, ps3, HD cable/satellite box, wii) then you'll appreciate having a stereo receiver with HDMI and component pass through. What's your stereo/surround setup? Or do you not have one?

Since you're unlikely to have more than one source that benefits from using HDMI over component (RGB), a receiver like this would be good if you don't already have one:

It has a good number of digital audio inputs (3 optical and 1 digital coax) and plenty of component pass-throughs. You'd at least be able to handle digital surround audio from your ps3, xbox 360, and cable box without any issues.
