actually, a 1/4" female-female adapter would work as well.

radioshack will have the 1/4" male to female cable and also the 1/4" female-female. they will have XLR cables too but you might check music-go-round and compare prices first. both stores should have all that sort of stuff and if you go to crossroads in cary they are right next door.

i know that, but i figured someone might have some used ones lying around they wouldnt mind getting rid of, for cheaper
