ohhhhh, they're talking about swaping 1st rounders......I thought that deal was unreal.

you have to remember, NFL owners dont care as much about winning as putting money in their pockets, and Vick puts people in the seats win or lose, if they werent swapping 1st rounders I say do it, or just tell em to keep porter or something
1/23/2007 4:51:58 PM
oakland is the NFLs graveyard where all the washed up players go to die
1/23/2007 5:15:06 PM
I'm all for this as this is where Vick really belongs.
1/23/2007 7:03:22 PM
that would be a great fucking trade for the falcons
1/23/2007 10:27:27 PM
Cali fornia.... knows how to paaarty...
1/23/2007 10:28:55 PM
i'm a dallas fan but aren't most people around here panthers fans? and still cheering the falcons on? i guess i dont get it. i say fuck the redskins and every trade they contemplate. with that being said. the falcons should pull this off by all means. even trade their two "first round picks" for a couple safetys
1/23/2007 11:05:05 PM
who's cheerin the falcons on?

it's a fucking rumor you fools. this will never happen, and if it does, it will not be for jerry porter, moss, and the number one overall pick. the raiders didn't make this offer, and atlanta won't trade vick. the cap hit would be $23 million.
1/24/2007 7:49:52 AM
1/24/2007 8:02:32 AM
it will never happen the way it's being reported.
1/24/2007 8:19:25 AM
...but if it does...
1/24/2007 8:22:08 AM
how could atlanta possibly rationalize a $23 million cap hit to unload one player?

Sounds like a good deal for Oakland. They get rid of idiots like Moss and Porter who are cancers, get Vick, and presumably something else like a draft pick.
1/24/2007 9:33:10 AM
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2740940They aren't trading him.
1/24/2007 9:44:06 AM
^of course they release something like that.pffft.His days are numbered.

why would petrino dig himself into a hole in his first season by taking a huge cap hit while acquiring two players with huge egos who aren't going to come cheap? they'd be limited in their free agent signings and may even have to cut additional players to get under the cap. it makes zero sense, and there's no argument in favor of it.
1/24/2007 10:49:12 AM
1/24/2007 10:52:38 AM
I would jump on it, A QB you don't need for 3 quality players. PLus your sending him to the AFC west the toughest conference in the NFL. I think thats a great trade, you have Schaub might as well play him.
1/24/2007 11:00:37 AM
Schaub is ready to play and has proven that he can throw the footballRandy and Porter want someone to throw them ballVick has not lived up to all the hype and i think ATL should take the team in a new direction
1/24/2007 11:13:32 AM
they could avoid the cap hit after june 1st, but that would nullify the draft picks as part of the trade.
1/24/2007 11:15:37 AM
http://www.realfootball365.com/nfl/articles/2007/01/raiders-vick-plusesminuses240107.htmlrealfootball365.com outlines the pluses and minuses of this trade were it to go down. among other things, it points out that the cap hit incurred by atlanta due to such a trade prior to june 1 in addition to the $10.75 million for which atlanta would be responsible by acquiring the two wr's makes such a trade unlikely.
1/24/2007 1:40:12 PM
oakland? draft a young player?please
1/24/2007 1:41:25 PM
Walter is Oakland's QB of the future. Just give him better receivers.
1/24/2007 1:51:29 PM
1/24/2007 1:54:18 PM
^^^i believe they draft young players every may. but seriously, the raiders' biggest needs are quarterback and running back. quarterback is a greater need because they'll likely only have one qb from last year on next year's roster, walter. however, the only time they drafted a qb number one overall was roman gabriel, who chose to play in the nfl instead. they could still do this trade with atlanta and get marshawn lynch at #10, whom i believe to be the running back they want. but i still think the trade is unrealistic because it financially cripples atlanta and i think al wants to keep porter.
1/24/2007 1:59:37 PM
Oakland needs:a coachan owneran offensive linea quarterbacka defence
1/24/2007 2:43:07 PM
^raiders had a top 10 total D this year, i believeif they could just get rid of AL Davis, their problems would be solved.
1/24/2007 2:44:34 PM
1/24/2007 2:45:16 PM
their defense is solid.
