Recently my friend from back home used my computer over the weekend, and installed the software "Nortel Networks Contivity VPN Client" on to my computer. My friend said he needed to access his work computer and do some work. Usually I wouldn't trip but I have no idea what this software is and I did a little research to find out that it is used to remotely access another computer. Should I be concerned that my friend can now access my personal computer from their work desktop or any device for that matter that uses the same software?? And if they can how do I get this off my computer??

ppl use vpn's to access their work computer OH GOD NO. you can either delete the program or get rid of the certificates/connection setup/whatever that he'd need to access your computer. this is assuming you even have remote access allowed on your computer, which it probably isnt. it isnt like random ppl sneak into your machine when you have the software on.

i think it's for connecting to private networks to your home computer not your computer perse. i use Cisco VPN Client for all of my remote networks that I manage. not for a personal computer. you'd have to have a public ip address to do that.
