weird. i'm surprised they made a tactical version of the Wingmaster. I figured they'd only do that with the Express. it just doesn't seem to make sense to make a tactical Wingmaster.
1/22/2007 7:24:01 PM
looks like he took a wing master and added a heat shield and a mag extention to make it "combat"
1/22/2007 7:26:19 PM
I only added the heat shield, the rest of the gun is stock, it is an older police gun. As for the question about it being a wingmaster, that is because this gun was likely produced before the express was even offered, also the express has indentions on the magizine tube that dont allow the instalation of an extender tube. This gun has the classic quality internals of the wingmaster. check Remingtons web site, the wingmaster is a much higher quality gun. It was the Remington 870 Wingmaster and Mossberg 590 that passed the military trials back when the military was looking for a reliable combat pump shotgun, the mossberg won because of price, but you can still find military 870s. Its not just a "combat" gun because I choose to give it that title, it has stood the tests, it feeds, shoots and ejects quite reliably under even extreme conditions.
1/22/2007 7:43:27 PM
Well, you CAN install extensions on the Express, you just have to bend out the indents. And quit calling it the Wingmaster, dammit. There's the 870 action, and the 870 Express action (which is less polished, and meant to be more affordable). The "870 Wingmaster" or "870 Police" or "870 Tacticlol" or whatever are just 870s with different permutations of furniture and sights.
1/22/2007 11:34:44 PM
This one has "wingmaster" on the receiver, sry I hadnt clarified that before.Stiletto is right, you can bend out the little indents, Ive seen it done before, I should have said that you cant install it stock, without modifications. lol, yall keep me honest. Ill try and get a closeup picture of the receiver later today.
1/23/2007 6:26:58 AM
I reread stileto's post, I missed the jist in my first reply, its still early. Yes, stiletto is right, there is the original 870 action and reciever, which is police, tactical, wingmaster... among others, and the 870 express action and receiver which is rougher in fit and finish. my previous posts are meant to establish that the 870 is not the 870 express. The original police and military combat guns are diffrent quality than what one might find in a modified 870 express. And my post was meant to establish that what I am selling has been proven as a very effective combat weapon.

Is it good for fighting off zombies?
1/23/2007 9:05:18 AM
still though, it's worth $160-200, with the latter being in much better condition
1/23/2007 11:24:46 AM
870 express at wally world for $238 right now.
1/23/2007 12:07:36 PM
don't confuse this one with the express, and anyway that is way to high for a new express anyway, i got the turkey deer combo with slug barrel and remchocke barrel on an 870 express for $170
1/23/2007 12:20:04 PM
^^^Oh come on, that's lowball for a proper 870 and you know it.The heatshield's only worth like $20 (ATI shield, right?), but the action itself isn't even present on any shotties that go for less than like $350~$400 new. The mag extension is another $30, if I remember correctly, and the wood furniture is a bit more over plain black plastic furniture too. $300 for this shotgun is perfectly reasonable....That said, I'd say $250 is also a fair (if lowish) bid, especially if you're just trying to get rid of it.[Edited on January 23, 2007 at 12:38 PM. 1/23/2007 12:37:14 PM
The furniture looks kinda to me but if you want to bid $300 go ahead.
1/23/2007 1:26:13 PM
Hey, thanks to all who know what they are looking at when they see a shotgun. Heat Shield - $20The mag exension is the original one Remington put on it. I think the extension and mag spring are around $50The furniture and finish are in real good condition, but the lighting in my apartment is not very photogenic, I figure if someone wants it then they would want to see it in person before buying. Im trying to sell it, but im in no hurry, I wanted to post it on TWW just to get it out to more people, I mean it cant hurt to advertise. Sorry, I wont sell it for real cheap just cuz someone else may have one for cheap or someone says that the gun is cheap, Im not strapped for cash and I dont have any pressing reason to sell, other than I enjoy buying, selling and trading guns.If your interested in the gun and you can afford it.....bid, Im not forcing anyone to buy it.
