Seriously will one of you CPE's create on of these. I want to get shows off of the DishDVR and onto DVD. I know I can take the HD out but who wants to do that. This has to be possible.

not quite sure if this is what you are talking about. My parents dish network DVR is and HD dvr, and it has a USB port on the front. Can that be used to get programs off of the unit? if so, how?

the ports (usb, firewire, rj45, et al) have to be enabled in the firmware to be able to use them and 99% of the time, they are not.

Mine recognizes my flash drive but won't let me access it, so I believe they are enabled. You can hook up pocketdish to the USB and it will allow you to pull shows off and it does so in mpg format. Can't you also hook up a wifi usb adapter. I don't have one laying around or else I'd try. I don't want to spring for one and it be a total waste.
