I'm posting this as a courtesy for a guy I'm consulting with for the semester who is looking for a NCSU student to intern for the semester. Both juniors & seniors welcome Perlith - thanks for the heads up!The guy hiring is actually a tech guy going into business consulting after working on both sides, so I'm sure he'd be glad to work with the intern to train them in a few of the skills they may lack... this might be beneficial to you all going into the work force come May.

This isnt a developer position. From the essential job functions, this is a project management, technical liason, lead developer, sales person and marketing person. This sounds like a full time job at best, but more like a 70-80 hour a week startup position, much less an internship. Hell, I only meet most of the "requirements" and I've been in industry for 7+ years. Hope it pays well. Also is worded very ambiguously, very business doublespeakish

^agreednot too descriptive on requirements

^ and ^^ hmm... see this obviously isn't my department so I can't really give any insight... but I will probably let the guy know about feedback like this... might help him draft a better post for me.Sorry I described it as a "developer" position... that's what he mentioned it would be geared toward ... so I thought it would be an accurate description. Oops.On a somewhat related note, are there anymore resources for me to check into to try and find interested folks... other than TWW, ePack, and http://www7.acs.ncsu.edu/student_jobs/selectjobs.html? Any suggestions appreciated [Edited on January 17, 2007 at 5:44 PM. Reason : more]

^CSC department emails out job positions all the time...I'd contact someone in the department to see if you can do thisor maybe the career center

get him to look at hiring someone as a full time person to do this with them in charge of coordignation, the best way to do this mess would be to hire somebody to handle it, then have then subcontract out the work as needed.
1/17/2007 9:14:05 PM
^^ thank you! I think UCC (career center) administers ePack though so....^ is "coordignation" a word or is that a typo? I think he's steering away from FT because he works with a company FT and is starting this from the ground up PT... but "then have then subcontract out the work as needed" sounds like it might be a better plan for him. Thanks TWW - keep this stuff coming!
