Why is it that players get soooo pissed off about this? So what if someone did the 'lights out' dance, why is LT being a whiny little chicken shit about it?

If someone immitates your dance, it is now the ultimate sign of disrespect in the NFL

yeah its not so much that they did the "lights out dance" it is the manner in how they handled themselves and danced on the chargers logo, acting like they have never went this far in the playoffs.......read the whole article before posting this bullshit you dumb fuck

What do you mean an "unresearched thread"?

Quote :

Came off your tongue, idiot!! Then I said that some of them haven't. I'm willing to bet that they probably were the perpetrators. Your problem is, you want to be the comedian of the message board and make the decision/mistake to respond irrationally instead of using your pee brain to post a 'decent' post.

An andymac, what was the point of linking to that thread? I'm not going to wait until I get 60k post to make a thread!!! You people place "smarts" on post count around here!! No wonder most of you guys are Idiots!!!!

LT is a crybaby and the rest of his team is supporting him because without him they are .500

They can go ahead and pretend that they are somehow better, because they wouldn't have stolen Belichick's "slight grin" celebration, if that makes them feel better about watching the rest of the playoffs at home. LT is the definition of a sore loser.

If my son's coach was like Marty and he taught my kid to be a crybaby like LT, I would sign my kid up for the patriots

Well why did the Dallas player deck TO when he went and stood on the Cowboys star in the middle of the field?? It is disrespectful for someone to showboat on the center of your field. Its also classless to do it once the game is over and when your team is not that good. The Patriots were lucky to win with all the mistakes that the chargers had they still only won by 3 and on a missed FG by the Chargers. I agree with LT and I wish noobs would stay out of the sports thread.

This is such a double standard!! Nothing happened when Chad Johnson did the dance and kicked after he scored a td(in a get outta here manner) when Merriman was suspended. But know, it's then end of the world b/c the chargers lost.

They won fair and square. There was no luck. The patriots are the better team and they won the game.

The problem isn't imitating the dances, it's acting classless and trying to show up and taunt a team on their home field after you beat them they gave the game away. That is completely different from imitating a dance during a game, and that what LT was pissed about.

T.O did it during a game = disrespect

Chad J did it during a game = fine

Some random guy did it after game = taboo, ultimate disrespect

S. Merriman (the steroid man) can do it anytime/anywhere he pleases = fine

That double standard/whole thing is stupid if you ask me.

And for the record, the Chargers did not give the patriots anything!! How could anyone possibly

expect Lt to win EVERYTHING for them? The man is NOT a robot. Rivers did not show up and

wasn't even a factor. He stopped throwing to Gates. Parker made a couple of mistakes, but

so does everyone. The patriots o-line dominated the well known blitzing D of the Chargers

like no tomorrow in the second half. And you guys keep screaming, "they let them win".

Lt's career is going to end up a step ahead of barry sanders. He won't win the big game,

he'll just be the best Rb not to win.

rivers didn't do anything? how about at least 5 perfectly placed passes that were dropped or the receiver failed to drag a toe that would have either resulted in a TD or continuing a drive. the chargers STOPPED blitzing in the 2nd half and allowed the pats to get back in the game.

Not being disrespectful or anything, but I don't agree with what you're saying. Why would the chargers stop blitzing and allow one of the NFLs' best Qbs' time in the pocket? The chargers don't have the best secondary, so blitzing is their answer. Fact.

WAYNEGRO , your comments are why Noobs don't belong in sports talk. Rivers had a great game however his recievers dropped many passes and it hurt the team. LT didn't have to win the game for the Chargers Rivers did a great job of delivering the ball to recievers they just dropped it. How about Rivers with 1:05 seconds driving the team down the field and getting them into field goal range? Your arguements don't stack up to the facts Junior. Rivers had a better game than Brady did. You do celebrating dances during game for humor or stupidity AKA T.O. After the game is over those dances become rude and disrespectful. If you win act like you are a winner. They acted like they had never been to a AFC championship game. This from the "Best team" of the decade??? Win or lose atleast do it with class.

I agree about the lack of structured arguments around here, but there is no way you can hang that loss on Rivers. Was he on the D line that was not able to get any pressure in the 2nd half? Was he the one out there dropping TD passes? Was he Marlon McCree? All no, but did he drive his team to FG range and give them a shot to win? Yup, that was him.

I want you to address this, right now! Being new around here has nothing to do with criticizing players!!! That is the most retarded logic I have ever encountered ever. I'm not saying Rivers lost the game, but you guys make it seem like He played like he deserved to be in teh Pro Bowl the other day. His performance stunk, if you ask me. The only player that did perform was Lt. And that was on the whole team.

RIVERS DID NOT HAVE A GREAT GAME. LT HAD A GREAT GAME. I know rivers is an alumni to here, but Im not going to be biased one bit.

He did does deserve to go to the Pro Bowl. Please explain to me who are the better QB's in the AFC? Don't even bother try to name any NFC because all you can come up with is Brees. His preformance was good enough to win the game. We don't ask you about what you think because its obvious you don't know much about football.

Sounds like a troll, but spoken like a true dumbass. This is why you watch games and don't just read box scores.

Rivers outplayed Brady: FACT. The fumble was meaningless, because he was blindsided on a fourth down (the fumble didn't turn the ball over). The interception was a bad throw, but was his only mistake. Brady had several.

Solid game (as usual) by LT.

Parker dropped multiple easy passes. Parker also muffed and failed to cover a punt. Vincent Jackson had drops. Stupid penalties. Dropped flutterball interception. Fumbled interception. Bad challenge by Marty. If that isn't giving away the game I don't know what is.

Also, if you don't understand the difference between in-game and post-game (especially on the logo) taunting or celebrations, you have probably never played a sport and at the very least are oblivious to social norms.

First off, I said the OTHER DAY (playoff game) he didn't play like a pro bowler. Why are you in such haste to offend me and what I know about sports ? Rivers was ineffective the first half, nothing came from him. So marty placed the game in Lt's hands and he performed like he normally does.

And you totally ignored what I asked you to address, if he played SO well. But I see you just want to be a name caller!

^ The 3 and outs, the sacks, the overthrows!! Yeah, there were some dropped balls, but there were also some poorly thrown ones. Im not saying Rivers caused them the game, but he in now way performed like Lt did.

It reminded me of earlier this season, when Marty wouldn't let Phil throw the ball that much and protected him by placing the game in Lt's hands. And you can say he out-performed Brady all you want, fact is Brady threw TD's and WON the game. Im out.

your right Rivers played the QB role. He threw the ball handed it off and did as he was asked. LT did what he was asked to do which is play martty ball. LT was the NFL MVP you expect a 100 plus yard a game from him. Rivers delivered as well no QB will complete all the passes he throws. Rivers had a good game he just had to many recivers drop the ball. ESPN had the top 10 reason's why the chargers lost and Parkers drop's and one fumble accounted for 4 of those plays. You are in Rivers fan base saying comments about how he played badly or anything will get this type of responce from most fans.

Brady had 3 INT's the only reason he got a chance to throw the TD was because on his last INT the DB fumbled the ball and gave it back to him. Martty played martty ball because it was Rivers first season as #1 QB. Once martty let Rivers pass the ball they kept winning.

If you don't agree with them WayneGro, that means you're a troll and less of a man. Brady led his team from a come-from-behind-victory and threw with precision and accuracy when the time came.

He shunned the NFLs' best defense and sliced them to pieces. Something that Rivers hasn't done all season long. Lt wants to cry and bicker now, over something that's really not that important.

Getting back to topic immitatting another players dance at the end of a game when you should be shaking hands and acting like you deserve to be there. The dance was ment to be disrespectful thats the only reason you do it at the end of a game and in the center of the field. Quote :

You see it this way. I see it as the pats being contenders and TAKING the ball away from them. I see it as the pats not playing well but playing hungry, and doing what it takes to win. Noone on the pats played THAT well, but it didn't turn into a 'blame game' either! That's why they are winners because they are a TEAM.

Sean Merriman got what he deserved. It really is irony and payback. I distinctly remember that asshole dancing, digging his feet in the ground like a fucking bull, and doing the gator chomp (b/c they were getting the gator bowl bid)during Phil's last game. Not to mention the whole fiasco with them breaking one of our drum member's drums prior to the game. Yet all they can do is go back to DC and complain to the Washington Post. "NC State fans were throwing bottles at us." Well no shit!! Then this year, he was one of the few NFL players that actually showed up at TO's bday party(not surprising) and the asshole took a shot at Phil while doing a CBS interview with Phil Simms by saying "He never beat me in college." Then as if his antics weren't enough he has the nerve to send popcorn and a lights out t-shirt to the guy who won the defensive MVP telling him to enjoy the popcorn while he watched him in the playoffs. Well... I hope Merriman enjoys the rest of the playoffs while he shoots up with roids. He is class-less and he got what he deserved.

""How bout dat fumble and Int rivers had?"

How bout that Fumble??? It was 4th and 11, and it was a blind side blitz at that. I will explain if you are still confused. You see, football gives 4 downs to gain 10 yards. On the first 3 trys, the Chargers lost a total of one yard, bringing up 4th and 11. Now on 4th and 11, this team selected to not bring out their special teams, otherwise known as "going for it." So, regarding the play, the fumble put the ball about 3 yards behind the L.O.S., thats what we call Line of Scrimmage. So, had Rivers thrown an incompletion, or a run/pass play that gained less than 11 yards, it ultimately yields the same result, and in this case, Rivers would have been sacked had he held onto the ball, and he actually fumbled it forward, actually making the field for the Patriots a few yards longer than if he had held onto the ball. I hope this explanantion will be of help to any other Europeans who may find American football confusing.

Merriman isn't exactly a model citizen, but celebratory dances in the game are nothing new, and he's not taunting a specific player or entire team (as TO did at the star years ago). Doing it at the center of the field on an opposing team's logo after the game is over is a big deal to the home team, "fact." Even if the visiting team "victors" there is a level of sportsmanship that should be displayed, especially from a so called first class organization like the Patriots. And all you saying LT is a sore loser are hilarious, this guy's credibility is as good as it gets, he ran for over 150 yards.

And if San Diego didn't hand this game over, what is an example of a team handing another team a game giftwrapped????

I'm not sure how you can call LT a cry baby. He only dominated the NFL this year, making rushing records look stupid, and never said a word, never did a dance, never called anyone out, most of the time, he didn't even say "I" in an interview, and he calls out the Pats and everyone jumps on him. I think he has a legitimate claim and I hope they fire Marty so he can win a Super Bowl. Fuck the Pats anyway! (oops, Is that not patriotic?)

It was 4th down. If he would have knocked the ball down instead of intercepting it the ball would have gone to the chargers in better field position, and the game would be over.

You're right, the Patriots didn't play very well. They played pretty terribly, but were handed the game on a silver platter.

I don't have a problem with LT2 getting pissed ON the field. That's his right. Do what you have to do if you feel your team is being disrespected. I do have a problem with the way he reacted in the press conference though. There was NO need to link the actions of one or two guys to the head coach, who is known to be as non-confrontational as they come with respect to these type of things. If it really pissed him off that much then he should tell Shawn Merriman to quit acting like he has rabies everytime he hits someone; then no one would be able to mock him.

As for the Pats players.. yeah, well i don't really blame them to be honest. Some of the things the Chargers players said last year after their win in Foxboro were completely out of line -- including McCree coming right out and saying "Fuck the Patriots."
