Heyas. I've been losing a lot of weight over the past year by simply changing what I eat. The biggest problem I've run into is a lack of "tasty" recipe ideas. I'm hoping you wonderful cooks (male and female) can help me get ideas. I try not to have leftovers as I forget about them. You'll make my day if you can give me a few recipes. Most of the recipes I've looked at are just not my taste. Mayonaise, Sour cream, Peppers, squash, and cottage cheese (Don't eat these). Other than that I'm game for anything.

allrecipes.com has an ingredient serach function, plus sections for carb-control, healthy and other such diet-type/healthy eating recipes.Some are complicated, some are easy.I found a fab tuna salad, lots of great stew/soup recipes, tasty pasta dishes and so forth.I say if you have 10-15 minutes go check it out.I also use it with those pesky ingredients that I can't ever seem to get rid of, very helpful if you have random things hanging around your house that you don't ever really use Never know what might pop up!

I love Allrecipes. I find that the reviews are helpful because people will post if there was too much salt in the recipe or something like that and give ideas for ways you can adapt it. If you're trying to eat well, it's probably for the best that you don't like mayo and sour cream. There is a vegetarian recipe thread in Chit Chat with some things that would be healthy if you don't have to have meat at every meal.

no peppers ???? all of my favorites have those. Oh well, here's one I posted in Chit Chat, you can leave the peppers out but you might want to substitute another vegetable. Use brown rice to make it more healthful. This version is vegetarian, but you can add lean ground beef/turkey, cooked up in the saucepan before the veggies. And you will have some leftovers but this amount could easily be finished by only 2-3 people. Cuban Beans and Rice 1 can pink beans, drained & rinsed (I like Goya)waterhalf of an 8 oz can tomato paste2 cups rice3 cups vegetable stockdash of orange juice2 tbsp olive oilbalsamic vinegar3 cloves garlic, chopped1 white onion, chopped1 green bell pepper, chopped1 zuchinni, choppedwhatever spices strike your fancyBoil the vegetable stock and orange juice together, add rice and simmer while cooking the rest.In a large saucepan over medium heat, add olive oil, onion, and spices. When the onions are softened, put in garlic, zuchinni, and peppers. Sautee until the vegetables are cooked. Add beans and tomato paste. Use the empty bean can to measure out 1 can of water, and add this as well. Stir and heat through. If the mixture is too watery, you can increase the heat and boil it down some.Serve the bean mix over rice, and before eating add a little olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Delicious! ]

Men's health has stuff every month, and so does the abs diet recipe book.iirc, Men's Health knows guys are like you (and me) and uses the leftovers from one day as a basis for the very next day so you don't have stuff going bad on you. I think last time I looked for a week's worth of lunches and dinners it was like $50-60
