Is that going in a Honda S2000?
1/12/2007 1:22:18 AM
transverse-mounted in a civic actually
1/12/2007 1:27:42 AM
what is the story line here?
1/12/2007 1:29:38 AM
Why the hell would you put that in a civic?
1/12/2007 6:18:28 AM
better f/r weight dist. duh.
1/12/2007 7:33:38 AM
two bolt mains, bleh, run of the mill, mild smallblock
1/12/2007 8:36:37 AM
nice paint
1/12/2007 12:31:28 PM
*bling*
1/12/2007 12:52:13 PM
umm its a mopar so all factory small blocks were 2-bolt.im building it for my 73 Duster footbrake/bracket car11:1 340, eddy heads and manifold, .544 comp cam, 1 3/4 headershopefully it gets me to around 7.50s in the 1/8th
1/12/2007 1:57:14 PM
Drag racing, oh how I miss thee. Was just talking with Mr Digtl today about a 7.80s in the 1/4 (4.90s in the 1/8) ride that I could be manning on a weekend basis if I lived back home.
1/12/2007 2:04:33 PM
so thats like mid-high 11s in the 1/4i really want a hemi dodge or semi hemi ford to start playing with.
1/12/2007 2:11:29 PM
1/12/2007 4:27:29 PM
yea 11's are my goal for starters. isnt 11.99/7.50 the cutoff for a rollcage at most tracks, the car doesnt have one and wont untill necessary
1/12/2007 5:34:24 PM
Wouldn't it have helped to put the timing cover on BEFORE you bolted the oil pan up?
1/12/2007 6:47:11 PM
nice. good to see some mopar stuff around here, not to mention someone actually doing a REAL project. i'll post up my 340 when i get going on pulling it.
1/12/2007 6:55:49 PM
haha if anyone actually thought that was for a civic they dont deserve to post in here
1/12/2007 7:00:31 PM
^^^ i dont see that it matters which order they go on inand yea i thought the kid was joking about the civic but i guess not...
1/12/2007 8:18:32 PM
it matters. are you obsessed with RTV though?or did not not even pull the pan?
1/12/2007 8:22:41 PM
btw, i'm shooting for roughly the same goals on mine. i'll be sticking with my J heads though, which already have alot of port/polish work in them. it was already a low-mid 8 sec. 1/8th mile car on 275 street tires. a basic freshning of the bottom end, a cam/intake/carb change and a pair of dr's should get me the gains i'm looking for (high 7's/deep 12's).
1/12/2007 8:32:52 PM
a posi, DR's, bigger carb and exhaust and i will smoke both you scrote toasters
1/12/2007 8:35:03 PM
oh, you only need what, 100+ extre cubes to do it? hell, you'll probably have to rebuild it AGAIN after the 1st pass. make your changes. we'll set a date for the early spring sometime and run them.
1/12/2007 8:46:53 PM
my LUXURY automobile weighs FOUR THOUSAND POUNDS whats a duster weigh? like 3000?
1/12/2007 9:48:50 PM
not sure off hand. i would guess closer to 3500 though. plus mine has subframes, bulletproof bellhousing, and a full case locker that probably adds another 100lbs. or so total.it still retains the full interior, etc. and most oem equipment right down to the gay bumperette things. the only weight adjustments are no trunk carpeting, spare tire/jack, and a battery relocation. doesn't have a stereo or speakers either.[Edited on January 12, 2007 at 10:01 PM. 1/12/2007 10:13:11 PM
the slant 6 duster weighed 2825lbs, we can assume the 340 weighed in at 300072 cutlass with 455? 3731lbs.
1/12/2007 10:19:14 PM
yea my shits gonna be full new interior that came with the car(- back seat)2x3 subframe connectors and the mopar 3" spring relocation with SS springs, 8 3/4 with 3.91 sure-grip and a full manual reverse 727 auto. got a fuel cell and electric fans and some junk like that. if that dont get me in rollcage territority ill throw a 100 shot or so at it and still drive it to morresville with the slicks in the trunk. just need the $$ to finish the body and rebuild the frontend.
1/12/2007 10:26:18 PM
sounds about right.what's a sb cutlass weigh?
1/12/2007 10:26:32 PM
and my SS springs are 3200lbs cause thats what i figure it will be at wet with me in it before a cage or anything
