Well, tailgating and other gameday policies are being re-evaluated but I doubt much will come out of it.http://tinyurl.com/ym2xl6http://tinyurl.com/yzvtzj

i would tend to disagreestudent input is great but alumni and wolfpack club member support is what we really need to 'take it bac'

the first thing that needs to be done is to put a huge boot up staffords ass for being such a cock.
1/12/2007 10:12:02 AM
^ I concur
1/12/2007 2:24:17 PM
I request we join I-AA so we have a shot at winning a game or 4.The wet blanket sent me a video message the other day...man, I'm fired up to dump more money into this program[/sarcasm]...although I still will:http://www.wolfpackclub.tv/coach_obrien.html
1/12/2007 2:49:34 PM
what happened w/ this? did a meeting even happen?
1/17/2007 10:52:15 AM
i'd be happy with 6 hours and some lower regulations on some of the other stuff.
1/17/2007 1:12:23 PM
fire-proof tents FTW
1/17/2007 1:33:55 PM
no Idea

Clemson is tightening up on their tailgating as well. BTW, Clemson's tailgate scene is the best I have ever seen (NCSU, GT, FSU, Wake, UNC, Duke and UVA). I imagine the tailgating in the SEC can put Clemson to shame, but in the ACC... definitely worth heading down there and checkin out.I would imagine the 4hr rule will be lifted, but other policies will be kept.
2/12/2007 1:02:18 PM
the four hour rule is the one to which i take exception. i could care less about kegs and noise.
2/12/2007 1:39:38 PM
agreed. the 4 hour rule is stupid.
2/12/2007 1:41:02 PM
they are going to ban tailgating all together
2/12/2007 1:41:50 PM
No alcohol or caffeine at tailgates next year. Sugar is under further review.
2/12/2007 1:51:52 PM
2/12/2007 2:15:09 PM
I concur with the Clemson statement, I went down this past year and had a blast. People were pretty nice too! I hope they lift the 4 hour shit. I don't care much about the noise and kegs; doesn't apply to many people outside frat life. And damnit, lift that flame resistant tent rule, I want my tent to burn baby, burn.
2/12/2007 2:56:07 PM
how about 6 hours? and just no kegs. they won't allow liquor out there which is dumb as hell in my opinion. keep me informed on what was found out.

2/13/2007 12:12:52 PM
they should open the lots at the same time every saturday...make it 8am...regardless of gametime. that way, there is no question.
2/13/2007 12:23:41 PM
""We didn't do a good job of advertising some of that or the best job of policing some of that last year," said Will Quick, a member of the N.C. State Football Task Force. "I think we'll be discussing ways we can better implement some of the rules we made last year.""Yea. You still lost to a guy in a pirate costume.

2/13/2007 4:52:30 PM
I think most people would be happy with 6 hours
2/13/2007 5:05:25 PM
I think they are doing this because they are worried that now loud mouth chuck is gone that pumps up the program then not as many people will come out if they can only pound beers for 4 hours.
2/13/2007 6:48:46 PM
Yeah, the difference between 6hrs and 4hrs is huge. Really would make me happier, though I miss camping out in the lot with kegs like the old days...
2/13/2007 7:25:18 PM
That way you can cook a pig without having to start it way before you head over to the lot
2/13/2007 7:27:03 PM
would love an extra day to tailgate but will take 2 hours
2/13/2007 7:41:35 PM
2/13/2007 11:40:34 PM
this would be better for us as well if the media like the news i watched tonight, which said...nc state students want to party longer....i know we party but its for everyone...geez.
2/14/2007 2:46:11 AM
2/14/2007 8:17:02 AM
In 6hrs you can cook a small pig. But most of the people I know who used to cook pigs had to start them earlier than when they showed up. You can cut the bull shit that yall want 6 hours. You only want 6 hrs if the game is at 3pm. if we have a normal noon time game I doubt I would see that many fans at 6am rolling in the parking lot drinking beer and cooking a pig. I can remember showing up at 4am to cook a pig for a noon game mayn time. The average crowed stareted showing up around 8ish. What yall need to be worrying about is the new seat belt law that will not allow people to cram 15 people into a SUV any more.
2/14/2007 8:23:46 AM
Warning: wordsI posted the belw quote on Statefans in their same thread. THis is mainly a ? for other young alumni. Do you feel the same as I do? Would you give more, or for those that give nothing, would you give anything if the administration made you feel more appreciated for the gift? I am wondering from conversations with my fellow recent grads that future doners are being alienated wiht no thought to just how much $ the university could be losing. Thoughts?
2/15/2007 9:35:49 AM
send that to ppl in the administration
2/15/2007 9:39:06 AM
Swedish - They know. At least from me. I'll share a little. I sent my donations in with explanation of why dollars went down. No response. Called my alumni assoc. rep, was told that they're sorry I decreased my donation, but policy isn't changing. Dug deeper with the rep and sent her, and the head of alum assoc. copies of my giving statements for my highschool and Boy Scouts. That got a response. It made me sick though, b/c I got the same, I mean identical, form letter from three people at the university that they had prepared. I got several phone calls, so I know they got my message. I talked to a girl my wife graduated with that now orks in the alumni assoc. and is a good friend. It's second hand heard it from a friend, so take it with a grain of salt. She said that after the shooting, the older, more established donors were worried about the public image of the university and wanted a PR crackdown. Since they have the dollars now, they get the say. They knew they were pissing off a lot of people, but it was a right now $ decision. My point to the Wolfpack Club, Alumni Assoc, etc is that they are losing millions by not cultivating our young alums. NCSU has more grads out there making more $ than ever, and our salaries are only going to get bigger. It's not the $5000 today, it's the $50,000 thirty years from now. Multiply that by the number of grads with marketable, in-demand skills that State puts out and the potential is amazing. Thinking only about today's $ is a recipe for failure. People in the right places have heard, they just haven't grown the balls to do anything about it.
2/15/2007 10:17:35 AM
so what is going to happen? I for one would love to be able to go out at 1 for a 7 oclock game...etc. I do agree with the guy about noon games...i probably wont show up until 8. Get up at 7, shower, get the pack together and head out. No problem that I see.
2/15/2007 11:17:08 PM
Thats the thing it wasn't until this year that we have gotten alot of games that weren't noon time. We usually had a few games that might be a 3:00 and then one thrusday night game. Its really sad though. What yall don't understand about money is this if they keep the rules then they keep money. When you have one or two alumni throwing down 100 million dollars your 1,000 buck donation is not going to be missed. If you give a couple million then they will listen to you.

uhmmmmmmmmwe got that extra hour?? I dont know exactly what this is about, bumped to 5 hours.have to take a glance at this
4/20/2007 3:31:40 PM
Anything under 6 hours is absolutely unreasonable. Even 6 hours won't let anyone cook a pig.
4/20/2007 4:28:17 PM
thats DA CHANCELLA for ya
4/21/2007 8:46:50 PM
The restrictions were not brought on to stop shootings. They were brought to crack down on students. The douchebags on statefans HATE walking through the fairgrounds parking lot and seeing students have a good time. For some reason, they expect college student fun to be family-friendly fun. It's not and will never be. So, they don't give a shit about the crackdown. The hypocrites did the same fucking shit when they were in college.
4/21/2007 9:00:39 PM
^ to what do you refer to on statefans about them wanting it to be curtailed? I've heard the PG rating stuff but I don't see how that ties into a time limit. If anything the arguement could be made that the students are still going to do what students do best.... (have a great time) and the time limits just encourages people to drink more faster rather than space it out over an entire afternoon or morning. I used to love cooking a pig and drinking from a keg, plenty of other schools have great tailgaiting traditions, it'd be nice to cultivate that and not supress it like it is now.

4/22/2007 3:03:01 AM
^^ I 2nd you on that. I miss being able to camp out for a day with a dozen friends and a keg to cook a pig before the game. Im sorry to say it, but I don't think those times will ever return. Once they tighten their grip, they usually do not loosen it: they make excuses for it until it begins to feel like normal to the new crop of tailgaters who never knew what tailgate freedom was.....
4/22/2007 11:29:20 AM
WE MUST NEVER FORGET
4/22/2007 11:34:27 AM
Events the current NCSU student crop has largely forgotten due to recent administative opression:Brent RoadPig StockTailgating freedomfeel free to add to that list....The massacres of all and any wild fun at the final Brent Road and Pigstock parties were signs of things to come....... a la tailgating restrictions... who knows whats next?[Edited on April 22, 2007 at 11:38 AM. Yeah all those events were fun but they got out of hand. The main problem is underage drinking. That is why i believe the new restrictions are being brought down. Long gone are the days of going to fair grounds throwing a football around cooking and listening to music. Last year I saw many people playing beer pong at a tailgate. Thats just stupid to play drinking games before going to a football game. in 4 years as a undergrad I new saw one ALE cop during a tailgate. I went to every home game and usually drank off of a keg with no problems. I don't like the new restrictions but if your arguements for longer tailgatting is for drinking more beer I don't think the rules will change.
