2002 acura tl type Si have taken the lug nuts off (duh) but neither of the front wheels will come off so that i can replace the brake pads.without seeing my car, care to guess whats up? is the wheel some how locked/stuck? after 2 hours, i still cant get it off. i cant imagine if i had a flat in the middle of nowhere. none of my other vehicles were this much trouble getting a tire off. [Edited on January 9, 2007 at 8:16 PM. Reason : \/ good point. i meant wheel. ha. ]

i think you should let the air out of your tire before you try removing it. otherwise you might have a bit of trouble on your hands

You need to give that wheel a swift kick. No, I'm not kidding. I usually either kick the shit out of it (making goddamn sure that it won't fall off the jack BEFORE I kick) or whack the tire with a rubber mallet. Most Jap wheels fit really good on the hub (hub-centric, if you will), and it's that nice tight fit, coupled with dirt and possibly corrosion, that makes the motherfucker so hard to remove. Sometimes it takes a bit of brute force.

You did jack the vehicle up right?
1/9/2007 8:23:03 PM
you see if you had a flat in the middle of nowhere and spent a couple hours trying to remove it you would have already kicked the shit out it.

^ Hahah so true.

^^good pointbut believe me, i have kicked the shit out of it because i cant watch the game and drink beer. and bitch still wont budge. any other ways of force the thing off?
1/9/2007 8:27:32 PM
like zxappeal, i say rubbah mallet
1/9/2007 8:32:05 PM
Kick in on it. At the edge of the tire. Hard.If you have all of the lug nuts off and it still hasn't come loose, you're not kicking hard enough.Seriously.
1/9/2007 8:35:25 PM
you can't get the tire or the wheel off?
1/9/2007 8:42:36 PM
wheel y0.

loosen up the lug nuts but leave them on. Drive car around really slowly. Stomp brakes. Thats how I got a ford rim off a dodge once. Spent an hour beating it with a sledge and it wouldn't budge, so I did that. Popped off in about 5 minutes[Edited on January 9, 2007 at 8:55 PM. Reason : cannot spell worth shit]

if you have to post about why your wheel wont come off just leave the lug nuts off and drive it to a j-team member. one of them can break it loose for you
1/9/2007 10:17:29 PM
finally got the bitches off and the new brakes installed. i kicked the shit out of them for 30 minutes straight.now i need a beer.
1/9/2007 10:37:35 PM
I hope you cleaned the hub well and put some grease or anti-seize compound on it or your just setting yourself up to have this happen again.

whoever removed your wheels previously might have overtorqued or you just got salt/what others have said.though i've never had that issue, ever.
1/10/2007 12:09:12 AM
I hadn't ever had this issue either, but it happened to my 03 2500hd, I beleive on the rear wheels. I had to kick the ever loving shit out of them to get them off.
1/10/2007 12:14:44 AM
I'll either give it a good kick or two on the outside edge, OR hit it once or twice on the inside with a rubber mallet.
1/10/2007 12:47:40 AM
i had to jack the whole front end of my tacoma up and wedge something between the wheel and frame and then let the power steering pump do all the work
1/10/2007 11:39:34 AM
i hade and old ford f 150 did the same thing i busted out a road flair heated the hell out of them the fell off like butter in a hot tub
