use the extension, i typed notepad.exe into explored and got a fresh pad[Edited on January 9, 2007 at 6:42 PM. Reason : windows keeps a pretty strict enforcement on extensions unlike *nix where it doesn't really matter]

extension doesn't matter.still won't work.it's like it will only go to the internet to search and won't check paths first

Would something like this work?- Create a directory called "Bats" or something similar.- Create a bat file for each program you want to run- Set your Path in Windows to the "Bats" directory

not exactly what you were asking for but it should work and you can make the commands even shorterhttp://pcworld.about.com/magazine/2111p184id112475.htmbottom of the article tells you how to set registry values so that you can type just the shorthand version and not the entire path.I'd just make a key, save it somewhere, then merge if you ever need it again instead of setting it up manually.[Edited on January 10, 2007 at 1:14 AM.
