Okay, so recently (well, more like a month) these neighbors of mine have decided to tie their dog to a tree outside their apartment and leave it there for usually about an hour at least 2 times a day. Meanwhile this dog barks continuously the WHOLE time. I have never seriously thought about wanting to kill an animal, but I am getting close. So my question is, is there something I can do about this? Complain to the apartment complex? Or is this totally allowed?

I hate when people go straight to "teacher" w/o talking to the neighbor first. I mean damn, go tell them their dog barks when they do it, tell them it bothers people, and ask them to fix the problem. If that doesn't work, then go to the property manager. Don't bring that stupid ass passive aggressive shit.

passive aggressive shit.....the vast majority of people would gladly accommodate someone who asks them person to person. I would be more inclined to retaliate when someone doesn't ask me first.........don't be a scared pansy.[Edited on January 8, 2007 at 4:31 PM. Reason : latter]

Wouldn't it be common sense though that your dog barking loud enough that the whole apartment complex can hear would be disruptive?

There's nothing the owner can do about it. It's a dog, it barks. Really doesn't belong in an apartment anyway. If you want it gone, get rid of it yourself.

^if the dog is tied up outside the apt there is, let the fucking dog in, i bet it stops barking. if it doesnt then it deserves to be dead[Edited on January 8, 2007 at 4:39 PM. Reason : grammAr]

Umm, I think there is totally something the owner can do about it. How about instead of tying this dog to a tree, they take it for a damn walk or something. I'm pretty sure the dog doesnt bark continuously when he is inside [Edited on January 8, 2007 at 4:40 PM. Reason : ^^]

I don't want them kicked out! I just want them to stop being morons and take care of their dog!

^^stop being a dramatizing douche bag, no one is going to get kicked out of anywhereif you dont have enough sense to know that your dog is barking, then the dog is too far away from your care. furthermore any dog barking is a pain, bottom line, so if you hear the dog barking go tender to it, if you dont have a clue it is barking then see my first pointif either of these take place then you deserve for someone to call the cops on you cause you are worthless[Edited on January 8, 2007 at 4:52 PM. ^^I understand that.for example: My gf had a similar situation.....upstairs neighbors complained about noise @ night directly to the super (she had no idea there was a problem....she's even been staying at my house most of the time for the past few months). Super calls her tells her she is close to getting kicked out because of a noise complaint (from what i hear he was quite the dick about it).She ended up finding out who the complaint was from, and went to talk to them....everything turned out fine, and they called the super back to tell him he overexaggerated. If she never would have talked to them face to face, it could have been ugly. The super just ended up blowing it way out of proportion, when if they would have just talked to her the problem would have been resolved w/o the drama. That easy.[Edited on January 8, 2007 at 4:56 PM. Reason : .]

how about be quiet and then you dont have anything to worry aboutthen there wouldnt be a situation to begin with and you wouldnt have to talk to anyone?holy shit there is a concept

There is absolutely no way they could not know the dog is barking (well unless they are deaf..). The tree they tie him to is about 10 feet from their door. It is further from me than from them. As loud as it is in my apartment, it has got to be ridiculously loud in theirs.

^^ it's more about effort. If they can't make the effort to control their animals, why should he make an effort to go talk to them about it? It's not his responsibility...lol at bodi being passive aggressive..[Edited on January 8, 2007 at 5:01 PM. Reason : x]

yeah i love this guy, he thinks i am passive aggressive, i am just playing along cause he thinks he knows all there is to know about everything
1/8/2007 5:04:03 PM
face it, like it or not situations will arise where there will be the need to tell someone they are being a nuisance, and 99% of the time the resolution to the problem is a simple "that's a little annoying, could you try to keep your dog from barking"Or you could go call the cops everytime someone crosses you......yeah, on second thought that is the solution to all your problems.
