I've never really used either, but I'm trying to get this web-calendar GPL thing working on our office's site and I have a basic understanding of programming.I THINK cgi is enabled on this server, but when I load the files in the webbrowser, all the *.pm and *.cgi files open as text. Am I missing a link in one of the files to the server's perl file or is this a good sign that I don't have CGI privelages? Instead of opening the application/script, it goes to the directory and shows the list of files-- where upon clicking each-- I only get the code as text.I would post the link, but I'm not entirely sure ppl on here wouldn't take the opportunity to attempt to exploit it if I've accidentally done something dumb.

actually i'm pretty positive it's secure, because it's professionally hosted, but I just don't want to open it up to tww traffic ps my login to the sftp lets me go anywhere on the server, so I made sure it has perl installed

so when I click "/index.cgi" and it opens a text document instead of the application, I know cgi isn't enabled, right?dur
