baliga is full of himself, you will hear this in his class: "im waiting for my nobel prize"however, he has the easier test scheme, the final will be much more difficult than the tests

definitely Baliga. he's a nice professor, talks about his research while giving examples... and he has done a lot of great things, so at times it may seem like he's bragging... but he's just stating the facts. when i took it... seven hour long quizzes, homework... TAs have reasonable office hours, and are really helpful.... lecture is kinda interesting. final is tough, but definitely easier than other sections. fair class. returns tests and homework promptly... sometimes we had our quizzes back the lecture after we took it... never had a class where things were graded so quickly and efficiently. good class, but be prepared to work for it.[Edited on January 4, 2007 at 10:24 PM. I couldn't tell you about Baliga, I had Osburn. His homeworks weren't so bad. He does have you team up with four other people to do the homework, though, and if whoever is responsible for handing it in doesn't show up to class, you all get a zero for that homework. I've had that happen to me at least twice, and all Osburn said was (and I'm paraphrasing here) "sucks to be you." So if you plan on getting at least some credit, don't wait to count on your other group members. Turn that shit in yourself. But overall his homeworks aren't too bad.His quizzes and tests, however, are something else entirely. He wouldn't technically ask you anything that wasn't covered in class, but most of the time I felt like the questions were asking me things that he hadn't gone over. Maybe it was just the wording or something, or maybe they were all just trick questions. I'm not sure how else to describe it other than that, so I'll say this much; if you expect to get anywhere near 100 on the quizzes and tests, know the material inside and out. But from what I've heard and from what I've seen first-hand in the class most people tend not to do well on his tests, and so he curves accordingly.
