we are talking about RPMs.what sense does it not make?meaning, on a daily basis i could take it past 10K. meaning, it was built enough for constant 10K+ revs. also meaning that i hardly took it past 10K.. the same 10K that i could have taken it on a daily basis, which i didnt because i hardly took it there.

that's a tough choice...i wanna say the 240 b/c its rwd, but i think a 'teg would be fun. drive both and pick the one you like more.

yeh its tough. Ill have the trackrat E30 for the "performance" car so i almost don't care so much about drivetrain. I would ironically, probably autox a GSR just for some FWD kicks, but its unlikely i'd ever choose the 240 over the E30 for track or autox. Its almost like having complimentary fun cars.The GSR is def faster, but its torqueless. So itd be real fun to 'get on' but it might get old for daily driving.. the 240sx is abut the opposite. torquey so easty to DD, but might not be as fast or fun. but then its RWD so i could make it fun.. hrmboth should be solid cars.. both a little ric0roni, but thats ok i guess. they'd be staying bone stock.Do you guys think insurance on the GSR would be a lot? Arent they stolen a lot?I can't find a comparably clean/low mileage E36 for under $6k so theyre out for now.

Integras are consistently topping stolen car lists, if that's a concern of yours.I've got a 96 240sx SE, and it's a great car, and with 68k miles on the one you mentioned, I'd go for that.

I'm assuming prices are close here, but aren't 240's usually way overpriced these days? And even if you find one, aren't they usually pretty ragged on?Not that a GSR is much better in the "ragged on" department I guess.

the integra doesn't have obdII so it won't cost as much to inspect and there will be no need for emissions other than cosmeticsbut i still like rwd better.

Well i just got back from checking out the Integra.The paint over all was a little dull and especially dull on the front nose part and spoiler. The clear coat on the rear bumper was peeling some. Think that'd buff out? My gf's red Accord is doing the same thing..No dents, dings, or scratches though. The interior was perfect, looked brand new.I drove the car and kinda liked the feel of the 'cockpit' i fit it in fine. The shifting was nice, the engine revved nicely, brakes were fine, suspension felt tight and responsive. However, this motor really is gutless. I swear my friend's Integra GS pulls harder in vtec than this. I'm not sure what was up, but i floored it to redline in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and while it got up to speed, i felt nothing at all. I got back in the E30 and it felt like a 5.0 mustang.I guess maybe i'm just not used to that kind of motor, but i swear i could feel when vtec kicked in in other Hondas. I heard it kick in, but couldnt feel much when it did in this car. I'm not sure that anything is wrong w/ the car because we did hit 90mph pretty quick. just a feel thing i guess. Revving that high was fun though and it was a breeze to heel-toe.So i give it an enthusiastic 'meh' at this point.

Is this the red GS-R that's for sale for $6k on craig's list? not a bad deal IMO. For some reason, paint on integra is really crappy. My 99 gs-r's paint is already faded on the spoiler. BTW, I don't think the GS has vtec.

240 doesnt have ABS or a LSD. a minor dent that can be pulled out paint free. needs an alignment.

GS-R doesn't have LSD either, only type R does. I would go with the integra because the resale value is better than the 240sx. There might be something wrong with the integra by the way you described it as "gutless". Mine runs pretty strong. I mean, don't expect M3 type of power, but it's still fast due to the lightness of the car.

If you have a fun car, and you want a daily driver, do yourself a favor and get something descent to ride around in... A small economy Nissan, or an Integra does not fit that bill. I'd drive an e34 or hell a Caddy Catera, or whatever before I would be caught dead in a tinky little japanese econobox with an old truck motor or a torquless wonder of a peaky little 4 cylinder.Ahmet

They somewhat vary from car to car stock for unknown reasons (excellent mitsu quality control, perhaps?). I think the accepted range is 225-250 with a rare freak putting down 260-275.

I have to be careful when I go from my Civic LX Beater (107HP at the crank from the factory, plus 10 years of wear on the engine, hmm...70hp at the wheels is probably about right) to my S2000, or especially my CBR. It's so easy to speed after flooring it all day in the Civic...the sudden jump in power is kinda fun though

just drove the 240sx. Felt a lot better than the GSR imo. It did fall off after 5.5k or so,but it had great response and at leat got out of its own way. it was smaller though and i sort of have headroom issues w/ it. :/Its messed up that an old ugly E30 makes all these cars feel weak I'm gonna look into Subaru RSs too now. Theyd be fun and more utilitarian..
