Digital Cameras are high amperage drain, high demand electronics. If you are using alkaline AA batteries they will definitely not last long at all, they cannot provide the high amperages for long with things like an lcd screen and powerful flash draining it. Make the nominal investment in some 2500 mAh NiMH rechargable batteries, these are the absolute best and will last much much much longer than regular AAs. Also being rechargable they will more than pay for themselves in terms of how many other batteries you would be buying.

yea definitely use NiMH or Lithium batteries.. my digital camera came with alkalines and only lasted 3 pictures.. the lithium in there right now has taken at least 50 shots if i recall and is still charged.

Also, NiCD and NiMH self-discharge when they arent being used.NiCD is like 10-15% a month, NiMH is like 30-35% a month.(Doesnt solve your problem, but random useless info never hurt.)[Edited on January 1, 2007 at 2:07 PM. Reason : .]

But still a much better solution than using alkaline, yeah they don't store well but that's why they're rechargable. And I know they gradually lose storage capacity over time but when you use them, they outlast other solutions by a lot.

also, what type of camera is it?I can only assume there are cameras out there known to drain batteries exceptionally quickly, just like there are cameras known to be able to take many, many, many pictures on a single charge.
