who's gonna get it first? i think weinki and henning are sure to go.
12/31/2006 12:51:20 AM
Weinke won't go unless we draft/sign a QB.Henning will be gone.
12/31/2006 12:53:22 AM
we need a weinkepedia.org
12/31/2006 12:56:13 AM
jay glazer just said that keyshawn said he would probably retire if henning was fired/left
12/31/2006 12:14:49 PM
who gives a shit if keyshawn leaves, motherfucker comes to the team and we only got worse
12/31/2006 12:52:24 PM
he had a major percentage of receiving touchdowns, i dont think he was the problem
12/31/2006 12:55:14 PM
with the new Memphis and Tiger formations, Henning might just catch a break
12/31/2006 1:46:13 PM
^^^^yeah i was reading the paper here in charlotte on this past monday and keyshawn said the same thing to the paper.also ken lucus said he may not be returning next year.... he just kept saying "if i am here next season" in every sentence
1/5/2007 1:35:58 AM
Weinke is a gonner...his contract is up and there is now way Bazenez(sp?) will be the backup so I expect they will bring in a FA or draft a #2 QB.
1/5/2007 8:15:38 AM
was lefors really so much worse than weinke that he wasn't worth even putting on the practice squad?or maybe he just refused the practice squad to try and find a roster spot elsewhere
1/5/2007 8:50:42 AM
1/5/2007 9:52:56 AM
didnt we just pick up the raiders DC?
1/5/2007 11:07:18 AM
we should pick up the LB from Penn State
1/5/2007 11:13:30 AM
1/5/2007 11:24:15 AM
i swear i heard that the raiders DC before Shell was fired was moved to Carolina...I may be wrong but i know i heard that.i will see if i can get some support on it

^ good call; here he is:http://www.esks.com/default.asp?V_DOC_ID=867&ESKS_ROSTER_ID=389[Edited on January 5, 2007 at 10:33 PM. Reason : heh still not on the 3-man depth chart ]
1/5/2007 10:32:12 PM
we have a pretty good D-coordinator as it is I believe we didn't get the Raiders D-Coordinator. He's now in line to get a look at some of the head coaching jobs though including the Raiders.
1/5/2007 10:44:54 PM
the oakland coach took a DC job at UNC, not the carolina panthers.
1/5/2007 11:15:26 PM
what Oakland coach?
1/6/2007 12:07:10 AM
it wasnt the raiders DC because he is likely to take over art shell's position as hc
1/6/2007 1:17:16 AM
I think it was Pagano, Oakland's secondary coach.
1/6/2007 3:54:54 PM
"The Carolina Panthers finalized a contract with new offensive coordinator Jeff Davidson on Tuesday night.Davidson was the offensive line coach for the Cleveland Browns the past two seasons. Prior to that, he was an assistant with New England as the Patriots won three Super Bowls.Davidson, 39, replaces Dan Henning, who was fired after an 8-8 season. The team also officially announced tight ends coach Dave Magazu will shift to offensive line coach."http://www.charlotte.com/mld/charlotte/sports/football/nfl/carolina_panthers/16528002.htmYeah I wasn't too happy either when I heard about it, but after reading up on this guy a bit, I'm pretty excited. He was an assistant coach with the Patriots when they won 3 Superbowls, really likes the tight end, and is well liked and respected by other coaches and personnel throughout the league. And even if he doesn't work out, he can't be any worse than Henning... for some more info on the guy: http://www.buckeyeplanet.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-31541.html

GREAT ARE SEASON IS ALREADY OVER BEFORE THE DRAFT OR TRAINING CAMP
1/23/2007 10:10:54 PM
i'd like to be a volunteer assistant coach... great view of the game, you get a ring if they win, sounds good
1/23/2007 10:29:01 PM
great, we get a browns coach as a OC. I think their offense was actually worse than ours last year.
1/23/2007 10:54:42 PM
^^In all respect, he didn't have SHIT to work with in Cleveland. Kellen Winslow... yay. This guy worked under Charlie Weis for a while up in New England and Fox said that Weis personally endorsed this guy (Fox and him are good pals). So if he can bring a little Weis style offense to the Panthers, I say bring him on[Edited on January 23, 2007 at 11:12 PM. Reason : .]

what a downer, i was hoping parcels wanted to reunite with keyshawn, oh well, is chuck still available?
1/23/2007 11:36:33 PM
1/24/2007 12:01:35 PM
supposedly he really likes using TE's as pass catchers (as opposed to pretty much an extra tackle like the panthers are notorious for), so look for us to try to get a pass catching TE in FA or the draft.
1/24/2007 12:10:35 PM
^exactly what i was getting ready to post. Our TE's have been missing over the past seasons. Even when they are on the field they are almost a nonentity for catching the ball. I think this will be a good upgrade for us
1/24/2007 12:13:54 PM
Bring Wesley Walls out of retirement.
1/24/2007 12:31:37 PM
^if only.....
1/24/2007 1:05:54 PM
Any chance they draft Abbate as a Dan Morgan replacement?
1/24/2007 1:26:58 PM
Would be a nice later round pickup. Everything I've seen doesn't mention Abbate much, but he played real solid this year and looked good against Louisville
1/24/2007 1:39:08 PM
as long as there's some amount of fluid between his brain and his skull, he's an improvement
1/24/2007 1:40:13 PM
as long as he can make it to the 2nd quarter he'd be an improvement
1/24/2007 2:02:45 PM
I doubt we will make in strong moves towards WR. Drew Carter...he is good and getting better, he is actually the fastest on the team, believe it or not. I hope Morgan is gone, i really do. Minter will retire pretty soon, he is gettin slow, and rucker wont be far behind. We need OL badly! and someone who can step up in the secondary, although richard marshal is looking good. Fox always drafts the most athletic guy out there, so i have faith in any of his picks. So far he has picked all winners...i think, dont quote me on that.
1/24/2007 2:32:01 PM
1/24/2007 2:34:39 PM
^^rucker will be cut....he's due a big roster bonus in the spring. If Key leaves, we will need to look at WR even if its late rounds of the draftMorgan will be back, untill he bruises his brain halfway through the season, but the panthers will prepare for that this off seasonthe secondary situation depends on what happens with LucasI would say our needs at this moment are:-OL-LB-Saftey (strong and free)-TE-WR/return man-RB-QBfrom most need to least need, and we won't come close to filling all the holes in just one off-season.[Edited on January 24, 2007 at 2:41 PM. 1/24/2007 2:39:25 PM
i've seen drew carter make some amazing catches. please dont make any comments on hands considering how many dropped balls we had this season. yeah i'm talkin bout keyshawn and smith! both dropped way too many passes.
1/24/2007 2:41:22 PM
Key and Smitty did have some huge drops this season. They should just stick carter @ kick/punt return, but he probably muffs punts too.
1/24/2007 2:43:07 PM
^^ there is no way you can make the case that drew carter has anything but bad hands and NEVER compare him to either keyshawn or smitty
