Here's the promo: http://www.warhammeronline.com/english/media/video/easterEggs/WAR_Promo_081606.htmlEither way, I'm pumped. Mythic does good work (see: Dark Age of Camelot). I have high hopes for the PVP in this game. Anybody else been following it or plan on playing it?

wow, it looks vaguely familiar....where have I seen similar.......
12/28/2006 10:53:37 PM
I like the extended trailer. i'm not sure whether it'll be -great- but I definitly think it'll be good.

Im switching to this as soon as it comes out. Been following it for a year or so. ^^ If your refering to wow realize that their style has been around for 25 years while blizzard has been around like 10.I played DAoC for a loooong time and switched to wow. The RvR was so much fun, it just want nearly as organized ad WoW pvp is. From the start you are thrown in PvP and you will be able to level PvE and PvP. Also the quests are going to be great. They are trying to stear clear of the whole "go kill 10 wolves" or "go collect 10 rocks" kind of quests and tailor each quest for each race. They gave an example of a woman getting a pie stole from har and asking you to retrive it for her. Empire nobaly accepts and finds the pie and returns it. Greenskins find the pie, deficate in it, and then eat it in front of the lady. High elves say they are too high for such a lowly task. Chaos kills the woman and burns her house. shit one more thing, your toon grows as he levels. thats awesome. [Edited on December 28, 2006 at 11:20 PM. Reason : ..]

There are going to be a ton of latecomers to MMO's or gaming in general who think this is a ripoff of WOW, ignorant of the fact that its style predates Blizzard by over a decade. Not to mention Mythic used the WASD controls before Blizzard adopted them for an MMO. I imagine a lot of people will try it out and go "ah ha! they took this from WOW."
12/28/2006 11:27:25 PM
yep
12/28/2006 11:28:29 PM
I don't care so much, though. That just means it culls the battle.net faggots from this game. However, it means less squishy oomies to mow through.WAAAAGH
12/28/2006 11:30:58 PM
now at first i was very interested in playing this game (i still might. im not big on the PVE side of WoW at all). However each new trailer I see makes me cringe more and more. The gameplay they are using to sell their product has been drab and the graphics even worse Hopefully their marketing team is just very poor
12/28/2006 11:36:53 PM
Ive seen very little of the actual gameplay outside of the developers videos and SSs. Where did you see stuff at?
12/28/2006 11:39:03 PM
bleh dont have the links on me in this computer. i may have them saved on my computer in my apt. It was a couple developer's videos focusing on PVP in the game as well as a few other things. One of them was on the official website. Both videos were rather drab looking. They had their characters literally stand still with hardly any unqiue animation besides the same AOE green glow affect from one of the characters.Like I said i havent buried the hatchet since first hand experience is usually required to do that with a game, but im much less excited than i once was to the point where I may not pay for it to try it
12/28/2006 11:42:25 PM
yea, but I remember watching vids and stuff pre WoW beta that made me cringe so Im hoping it falls together. With as great as DAoC looked for the time and how much they have upgraded it graphics wise over the years Im fairly confident this game could blow WoW out of the water.
12/28/2006 11:50:49 PM
^^Its not uncommon for graphics to look shitty in developers videos, as they're usually extremely early in development, and more focused on game play. Unless they're specifically trying to show off the game art, graphics arent usually polished until later in the dev cycle.

to people saying that Warcraft was a copy of Warhammer, you are correct. However, you can't stand here and tell me that that trailer isn't a straight ripoff from WoW's opening movie, with the multiple duels between classes. It does look like it could be good, but I don't play MMO's anymore. And it would be cooler if it was 40k.Orks > Orcs
12/29/2006 12:11:24 AM
Greenskins and Orks both WAAAGH, so I don't see much of a difference. I'd play one or the other just the same.
12/29/2006 12:38:07 AM
I guess this will hail the return of THE WAAGH BRIGADE?
12/29/2006 12:41:55 AM

12/29/2006 12:46:10 AM
WAAGH BRIGADE might return, yesI can't decide between that and Da Gork and Mork Klub
12/29/2006 12:51:28 AM
I'm pretty pumped for this game.I've got to say that I'm DOWN with putting the skulls of my opponents on my avatar.and off courseWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH

12/30/2006 8:38:50 PM

I'm not saying either compare to high graphic's computer games, but they are nice, no monthly payment alternatives to bide your time between high powered game releases... and one can be played even when without an internet connection.
12/31/2006 5:57:03 PM
i might do this instead of getting back into WoW if i ever get around to getting a decent computer
