I went out to Sport Auto (the Lamborghini dealership in Summerfield, just north of Greensboro) and happened to catch one of the mechanics just as he was finishing installing a radar detector on a brand new Murcielago LP640. The car arrived this morning and is leaving tomorrow on a trailor for Raleigh. After talking to the guy for a few minutes he told me that he was going to take it out for a test drive and offered to let me ride with him. We tore through the back roads of Summerfield hitting speeds in excess of 120mph. This was the first time I've ever ridin in a car with over 600hp and i was blown away by the thrust that thing generates when he nailed it. It really kicks you in the ass. It was quite an amazing experience to say the least. I don't have any pictures of the car but it looks exactly like this one...

The owner of the car is actually one of the owners of Sport Auto. He doesn't work in the dealership though, he's an investor. But the mechanic had permission to take the car out. It wasn't like he just did it without telling anyone.

Go ahead, the boss was standing there when we left and when we got back. He knew exactly what was going on. He even knows exactly how this guy drives. I talked to the boss when we got back and he asked me how the ride was and if i got to see what that car is capable of.

Keep in mind this car is owned by one of the bosses. He wasn't there but I assure you he knows what goes on. It's a Lamborghini dealership for crying out loud... every time they take a car out for a test drive they dog it. What the hell do you think those cars were built for and why do you think the dealership is located way out in bumfuck Summerfield. I assure you he did no damage to the car and never once did he even begin to lose control.

sounds like a bel or whatever, if its like what ive seen in a lot of range rovers and mercedes/BMW... its not super stealth technology as much as it is multiple seperate sensors (for example front and rear hidden in/under the front and rear bumpers) and then a small LED readout mounted somewhere on the dash...

Sounds like fun to me, although I'd be seriously terrified to be going 120mph on back roads in an exotic without a helmet and harnesses, and with a driver whose experience is mostly unknown, lol. I've always thought it was funny that there's a Lambo dealership out there...I guess it's kind of a central location.

The Murcielago is the most bad-ass looking supercar of all times. My absolute favorite. Others might have better performance, or better interiors, or better quality, or all three, but as far as looks go, nothing beats the beast.
