The write-up in the magazine (sorry for no link) put it at around $1,000,009,380 right now...and said that it was 18 months ahead of schedule.

I guess the only thing better than $1Billion is 2 Billion!

They also specified where the money would go:

1) Corporate/Partnership Research facilities (Centennial Campus buildup)

2) Old campus facilities,

3) Athletics

Oh, and there is a current bid to make the NCSU hockey team a Varsity NCAA sport and plans for a 5,000 seat hockey rink on Centenial Campus!

^ I'm pretty sure most everything planned for Centennial Campus (resort, golf course, etc.) has been canned. Or at least post-poned indef. so it'll be interesting to see how that goes.

^^link on the hockey thing

^i read in the faculty/staff bulletin that the golf course should begin soon. and that they were gonna seek a donation from a modular home manufacturer for a temporary clubhouse.

Yep, they passed the billion mark like a month ago, 18 months earlier than planned. Frankly, I'm surprised they found people to give that much.

If they had gotten Bill Cowher as football coach, that would be 2B$ RIGHT NOW.

Yes, our Alumni are like that.

sorry kids, hockey team is nowhere near going NCAA D1.

among the many reasons why: Lack of facilities, alumni apathy towards hockey, and Title IX. but that would be something i'd love to see happen.

Breakdown of funding:
Facilities: 33.0%
Research: 27.5%
Students: 19.2%
Outreach: 8.0%
Faculty: 7.8%
Unrestricted: 3.7%

gg NC State. A lot of things to be proud of but not enough PR for awhile to show it off.
