well my ps2 has shit the bed

money to anyone who can fix it

pretty sure its in the ribbon or line that connects the board to the laser...was workin ok then starting gettin disc read errors, cleaned the lens worked the motor a lil and it worked again fine for a few days, now when i open it the laser wont even light or move and the tray wont budge either.

oops. I had to do a little of that recently too, readjusted the angle of the laser to the disc to fix my 'disc read errors' for pretty much all dark colored discs. No problems really but i didn't do anything that would mess with all those cables connected to the disc reader. I did almost break the cables to the power and eject buttons, that was a close one....

all the cables are connected and in place

i think the port is the problem, the port to the main board and I dont wanna mess with it that much and screw something completely up, i'll just take off the laser cover and let someone that knows what they are doing do the rest.

It's all part of Sony's master plan, all PS2s are programmed to self destruct shortly after the advent of the PS3, forcing you to buy more Sony products, and hopefully a PS3.

yo does anyone know how to fix a disk read error...i sent my ps2 to get fixed for free in 2004, but the disk read error came back

the same shit happened to me with a ps2 that was 2 years out of warranty, i just started to exchange emails with sony and they took my out of warranty ps2 and sent me a new one, all i had to do was pay for shipping both ways

not sure of the version but its the fat one not the slim so theres alot of room to work with


find out the version tomorrow, anyone on this?
