Wrong.

You've passed gets a 2 page letter.

You've failed gets a multipage letter showing what you missed.

chill. they can't guarantee everybody get's the results at the same time. All they can do is send them out at the same time. The rest is up to USPS.

I've heard the same (for the PE at least)
big package = bad
small letter = good

Yeah, when I took this last year, when the single small envelope came in the mail, I definitely had an "oh shit" feeling...

but then I opened it and saw "YOU PASSED"

I wish I could have gotten an extra 3k on my salary if I passed the thing

take E490 if you intend to go to the course... otherwise its a waste

also, the spring course was a lot better than the fall one (a friend took it in the fall, I took it in the spring) because you only meet once a week as opposed to twice a week.

the thing that E490 really helps you with is learning how to use the book they give you with the test

i actually have seen almost everything that was on it and im in BAE dept. the instructor for E490 bashed my dept in a way and i was very pissed at him, but my dept has one of the highest passing rates.

I think MEs have the highest passing rate. Our curriculum covers such a broad range of topics.

took CE exam Oct '05 went to several E490 classes before deciding to bet the 150 bucks or so it costs that i could pass it without studying. quit 7 hours in and bubbled in the last 20 or 30 questions i didnt know without looking at the book and left to watch some football.

if you can afford to pay up again in the spring its the best way to go. stress free method if you accept failure the first go around. you can always study the second time

I said one of the highest. BAE curriculum covers a wide range of topics as well. I have taken courses in Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical departments. We are a small department, but we have a lot to offer and a lot of awesome people. Most of my dept. classes had 30 people tops in it and thats the way I like it. I like knowing all of my peers, and I like my professors knowing me by my name. In larger departments, unfortunately, you just can't get that. And I'm doing what I love so it makes it worthwhile.
