I'm moving there for work in a few months. FINALLY I get to leave Wisconsin, this hippie-infested ice cube of a state...Anyone ever lived there or know anything about it one way or the other?

best thing about Cinci is the Hofbrauhaus (sp?) on the other side of the river - you'll wish you were back in Wisc...[Edited on December 19, 2006 at 9:04 PM. Reason : sp?]

I'm from cleveland and I think cinci is a dump. that's saying something
12/19/2006 10:46:19 PM
Cincinnati is a shithole.

^^^^^^Thanks hotpants, definitely moving again already. AND I'll be moving once more if they open an office closer to Raleigh... so far Cincy is as close as I can get.For the rest: I've heard Cincy's a shithole even from other Clevelanders, why is that?

12/19/2006 11:19:24 PM
i'm originally from outside of clevelandabout 3 years ago, i had a friend in cleveland tell me it was going to shitabout 2 years before i heard that, i heard cinci was a fucking shit holeso i'm guessing cinci is worse than cleveland and as mrlebowski said, thats saying something

I think every post that someone posts "whatcha know about *this* town?" the general response is "It's a crap hole"I stayed in the Cincy area for a weekend earlier this year, went over to King's Island. It was fine, went through one REAL ghetto when I got lost, that was scary, otherwise it was just like any other large city.
12/20/2006 6:45:38 AM
^^id be careful, you can get shot in cinci for saying that.
12/20/2006 8:54:14 AM
I'm from Cincinnati and I love the city! I'm heading back all next week.Skyline Chili is my favorite and it's hard to beat Graeter's ice cream. Most of my family lives downtown and I love the local pubs slammed in the middle of the neighborhoods. It's an older city than Raleigh, so there aren't as many new buildings. Give it a little time, you'll love Cincy.
12/20/2006 9:31:18 AM
I know that their airport isn't in the same state.
12/20/2006 9:37:02 AM
rednecksLOTS of them
12/20/2006 9:43:04 AM
Cincinnati has a lot of German ancestry, they have the best german bakeries (especially their crumb cake and tea rings ). I think they also host the second largest Oktoberfest in the world (besides the one in Germany).
12/20/2006 11:05:46 AM
Cincy sucks, Columbus is better
12/20/2006 11:20:09 AM
my girlfriend's family lives there, so i've been there a bit. i like skyline and gold star chili. seems like there's a bunch to do. lots of sports teams.

They have an awesome winterguard team called Pride of Cincinnati.. probably do drum corp too.. if you care about that stuff.
12/20/2006 7:09:28 PM
Good eats in Cinci... La Rosa's Pizza is still the best food I've ever eaten, Skyline, Montgomery Ribs.. Been a long time since I've been back (born there and lived for 11 years), but it was nice while I lived there. And yeah they love the Reds.Oh and people from Cinci hate people from Cleveland and vice versa, so don't take advice from Clevelanders. Cinci is far less cold and rusty anyways.
12/20/2006 8:20:17 PM
good riddance, have fun in ohiololohio
12/20/2006 8:52:26 PM
i just moved back to raleigh from there. cincy has a few neighborhoods that have a decent nightlife/shopping/places to eat. in the general area places I enjoyed were: Mt. lookout, Mt. Adams, newport on the levee (that is where Hofbrauhaus is) and hyde park. there are a lot of interesting people there, but you find that anywhere. I also lived in Wisconsin for 17 years so I can relate to you wanting to leave, but I don't know if you will see much improvement in cincy. and yes, they are crazy about the reds and bengals. and the chili. people define you by which chili place you like better.

12/21/2006 9:49:37 AM
I'd live in cleveland over cinci any day of the week. More culture imo. But yeah, all those cities like pittsburgh, cleveland, cinci, are all fairly similar. Blue collar midwest towns with lots of drinking that love their football
12/21/2006 10:06:00 AM
Cincinnati is a decent industrial city. They have great sports fans (but a crap baseball team), and they get better concerts than most other places that size.
12/21/2006 12:18:54 PM
and tons of mulleted rednecks
12/21/2006 12:39:17 PM
believe the chili hype. I have never had better chili in my life.
12/21/2006 1:28:38 PM
