NC State is not buying the MAE415 book back. If you have Tran next semester, I did not have him so I cannot guarantee that what im about to say holds true for him. But for Dow, regardless of the textbook of the years he has taught 415 here (after moving from 416 to 415) he has given very similar HWs, and they are his typed up problems stemming from his notes, NOT direct book problems. For the problems this year I had the current 415 Text Book (the one i am selling) as well as 2 previous 415 text books. This one was very useful to his assignments. So, even tho the school is not buying this book back, i can pretty much guarantee that this book will be as useful as buying the new edition (since the formulas needed for his HW come straight out of his notes for the most part. And the ones that didnt came straight out of this book) for both your HW and design projects in this class. The book is in near mint condition. Looking for $40-50, around what I would have gotten if they bought the book back this year.-----------------------------------------In a similar situation, I bought the new version of the MAE408 fluids book this semester (white's version) since i couldnt find my old Cengel edition. I used this book in 412 Thermal Design. This is actually a new edition, however NC State is switching authors for their MAE 308 classes again, thus this book will NOT be used for 408.It DOES however have all the useful information you need it to have for 412 Thermal Design (as this class merely uses this book for its many charts, tables, and information) or fluids in general. It is in mint condition and has all the pertinent information on pumps, pipes, moody chart etc.Once again looking for $40-50 bucks each as both these books were purchased brand new this semester.[Edited on December 19, 2006 at 4:01 PM.
