Heres what it is doing.....Turn it on, cranks up fine.......hit normal idle then drops down to 200-300 rpm (hundred to thousand) and runs rough. It has done this before and had a scheduled appointment over christmas break (in other words, tried to go home today and now stuck here). Usually after runnign rough for a minute it will rev up to normal idle and be fine. Now it stays at 2-3 hundred rpm and runs rough and will cut off, scared to take it out, drove around parking lot and waiting for a car ot back out it shut off.. Any ideas?Checked for broken lines, thought I reset computer but apparently disconnecting the battery doesnt do it, check engine light has been on like all fucking fords and is probably O2 sensor or egr valve.....ANY IDEAS?

Well, the first thing you should do when you post a question like this is

Sounds like EGR/Idle Air control valve/MAFs

it needs a new idle air control valve,http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?mfrcode=NIE&mfrpartnumber=22972&parttype=506&ptset=Ayou take out the four 7mm bolts on the plastic cover on top of the engine, take it off, unplug the wiring connector to the valve, take out the two 10 mm bolts, take it off, clean the old gasket off, use a new gasket, install the new valve, plug it in, and put the big plastic cover back on, takes about 10 min[Edited on December 15, 2006 at 5:57 PM. Well my advice to you is to go have the goddamn codes pulled and have the thing double-checked before you plunk down yer money. 69 is right damn good at this kinda thing, but even he (or I or anybody here) can make a perfect diagnosis over the fuckin' internet without actually taking two seconds to look at it in person.

Reason : and every other time it has been O2 sensor, they fuck up regularly which makes it easy to assume]

Upset? Me? hell no, son. You mistake me for somebody what gives a damn.
12/15/2006 7:40:31 PM
Ok, went to start it up before I put on the thing......and it started up perfect. Figures, it doesnt have a problem once it starts up. Thanks for all advice, I can actually drive it to a mechanic now and get it hooked to the computer.
