I am in desperate need of highlights; and I would like some information on any places in the Raleigh area that do a GREAT job (I'm not worried about price at the moment). PS. I figured there was another thread identical to this one but I did not find one, so if this is a repeat I apologize.

my best friend drives to Raleigh from Greensboro to get hers done and her hair ALWAYS looks great. if I decide to start getting highlights again, I'd definitely go to her.she goes to Salon Jasemine1836 Wake Forest Roadshe's German and awesomeJasemine Upchurch(919) 832-3222[Edited on December 14, 2006 at 4:17 PM. I'm not sure of a place to go, but just in case you do find the other thread-- it is a bit outdated. I went to one of the salons listed on the old thread & was HIGHLY disappointed. There had been enough of a lapse in time for the person suggested in the thread to have had a baby and the salon to find another stylist by the same name. So, just because tww says it's great... be sure to get multiple references or something. I paid high dollar to be extremely dissatisfied. Just because they charge a lot doesn't mean they're good. Also, there's the place that is always advertised on the radio that is strictly known for their hair coloring & highlights. One of my coworkers went there and her hair looked AMAZING. Maybe someone else will know what i'm talking about? They use color palettes instead of just single colors so that the highlights/ color won't have to be redone as often (every 3 mo. instead of every 6wks?) I dunno, I used to do highlights, but haven't done anything artificial with my haircolor in years, so it's just an idea. GOOD LUCK!

I just went to Hair Color Xperts in Cameron Village and loved it. Had my hair litened from a dark brown (natural color) to a red, and then had blonde highlites put in it. Michelle did my hair, and did a really good job, and Larry, the owner, is really nice. Plus, if you're a student at State, Peace, or Meredith you get 15% discount with your ID!

heather is really good. She used to work at Carmen Carmen Salon at Belk's in Triangle Town Center and now she has her own place. She's super sweet. Pretty much anyone at Carmen Carmen does a good job too.

So I've called a bunch of the salons recommended and it was down to Atomic; HCX @ CV; and Jasmines -Jasmine's hasnt returned my phone call from yesterday so it's looking like one of the other two. ^^^Atomic it is 100 for color 50 for cut from Shannon, and a little cheaper if the other girl does it by like 20 bucks. And HCX @ Cameron Village it is 100-165 for Color; then 35-70 for cut. The lower range being from a girl who just started 2 weeks and the highest price for the most experienced. And I am going to do this Monday - so maybe I'll post pictures just to show the good work (if it is good work [Edited on December 15, 2006 at 2:19 PM. Salon Farooz in Pleasant Valley Promenade, she does a great job with hair cuts and fixed my sister's hair after my sister fried it with a bad home dye job.

The girl who just started 2 weeks ago was probably Michelle. I knew she has only been there for a little bit, but she also did hair in NY before she moved. The reason they put her at the lowest level is because the dye the use is a little different, but she still knows how to do it. She makes sure you look good before you leave the salon, and even follow up the next day.i'm talking about the hair color xperts placeand it cost me $150 including a 20% tip, my 15% discount, and about $30 worth of products[Edited on December 17, 2006 at 2:46 PM.
