i finally get my tcase all buttoned up, new seals, new rear yoke on my rear driveshaft. got the shifter relocation bracket which looks like it's gonna be sweet, then i pull my shifter assembly offa my tranny to reseal it bc it's leaking.......imagine that, and the little plastic part of the shifter assembly has broken into little tiny pieces. ugh. i think i might get a b&m short shifter unless jeep has it cheaper.
12/6/2006 10:10:12 PM
there are still plastic parts on your jeep?
12/6/2006 10:21:23 PM
yea, internals of my tranny. my shifter ball rides on them, but that shit is broken.

12/6/2006 10:32:54 PM
sorry i didn't go to bed until 3 in the morning and then i had to be up at 6... I got home from swimming and I was exhausted.. so I passed out...I am going nect week though... NO exam to study for :-)I missed you guys though I got cookies here too
12/6/2006 11:13:00 PM
let me get some cookies and i think i might go for a *bling* b&m short shifter if jeep's price for the shifter assembly is through the roof. we'll see, i hope jeep is cheap so i can go wheelin this weekend
12/7/2006 12:27:03 AM
alls you need is the bushing correct?
12/7/2006 12:33:22 AM
nope. inside the actual shifter housing/assembly there is a plastice piece that the metal ball pivots around on. this piece is now pieceS and i'm pretty sure it's a one piece shifter so i'm gonna make some calls and try to get one fast
12/7/2006 11:11:37 AM
what tranny? whats the piece look like? can you make one out of met-al?
12/7/2006 11:21:38 AM
it's an ax-5. i'm pretty sure that the shifter assembly is one enclosed piece so i can't really fab one up
12/7/2006 11:34:27 AM
http://www.easternautomotive.net/$texas but quick...
12/7/2006 11:38:44 AM
Ax-5 i miss my wrangler if i would have had the money and time to buy it back and work on it i would have never let him go... btw nv 3550 =10x better than ax-5 or 15(in my xj)[Edited on December 7, 2006 at 11:41 AM. Reason : .]

sucks you don't have the nv3550, i'd let you rob my shifter for the time being.[Edited on December 7, 2006 at 2:18 PM. Reason : .]

so the tards at cary autopark had no idea what i was talking about even after i explained exactly what is was and where it went and where it attached. "so this is for your transfer case?" NO, AN AX-5 IS NOT A TRANSFER CASE called david o'neal and the parts guy was awesome. i think i might be able to get the plastic bushing thing and fix it today.....maybe. the parts guy said that the techs know what it is and that it's commonly replaced. i'm just gonna cross my fingers and head out there.
12/7/2006 3:11:34 PM
^if you end up at cary again, drop me a pm. i know a guy there that will make sure you're taken care of.
12/7/2006 3:45:21 PM
^^holla at me if david o'neal parts guys cannot find your parts
12/7/2006 4:01:20 PM
yeah, we gotz the jeepz dealerz on LOCKZZZZ
12/7/2006 4:22:39 PM
bwhaha, thank god for redneck crosseyed dudes that give me good ass deals on new parts that they personally have laying around. 50 bux for a new shifter housing assembly when the part from jeep was over 200 bux. and thanks BigBlueRam and Igor for your offers. if either of you wanna roll to uwharrie this weekend i have a seat for ya!
12/7/2006 6:10:57 PM
if anyone is in charlotte and wants to drive me and the xj up that would be awesome...
12/7/2006 6:17:19 PM
I always go to david o'neal. The parts guys that work there are top-notch. Plus, if there's some reason I need to take my jeeps in for work I can't do, they are reasonable on price if you know what you are talking about.
12/7/2006 6:21:55 PM
because you drive a jeep, failure is imminent
12/8/2006 8:40:48 AM

12/8/2006 8:53:28 AM
