OH HELL YES. Please open before ACC basketball starts. I'll be there 3x/week. Thanks.Eww, no. Football, basketball, and please no karaoke. Ever.Bar food. Have 1-2 healthier options (but not a salad, that's just wrong at a sports bar). A veggie burger would be a good compromise.

Would you go to a sports bar and restaraunt that did not allow smoking inside the building but provided a smoking area in the form of a covered deck?Yes. It gets mighty cold in the winter though. Those outdoor heater things rule.Do you smoke?Yes. Pack a day. What type of nightly entertainment would sway your decision in which sports bar to go to?Good games. No music recorded after 1984.What type of food would you prefer?Standard bar fare. Food should be decent with at least one great item that everybody gets all stoked about.Any other questions of comments...I don't go to bars that often so my opinion is less significant than the regular bar attendees' opinions.[Edited on December 6, 2006 at 9:13 PM. i personally try to go to bars where smoking is allowed inside but if i really like a bar for the scene and you can't smoke i would go anyway.yes i smoke.
12/6/2006 9:14:02 PM
Yes.No, maybe if I've been drinking.A bar that isn't so packed you can't sit down to eat / watch a game sucks. Beer selection I could give a rats ass about, we're talking about a sports bar. Specials are nice.I prefer either a chicken sandwich or some wings. Definitely wings.I definitely don't mind if people smoke, just so long as it's not in my face.[Edited on December 6, 2006 at 9:18 PM. Reason : .]

Yes. besides I have no choice where I live.No.plenty of nice big ass tvs and something not so crowded.wings, etc...I love smoke-free bars and restaurants. In fact I hate going to bars/restaurants when I am in NC cause I can't get use to the smoke anymore.
12/6/2006 9:42:41 PM
i thought when i first moved up here smoke free bars would suck, seeing as how im an occasional smoker. (in delaware)but now, i really like it, and places up here have heaters outside in the smoking areas, so its not so bad to step out.go for it man, its much better. i support this idea.[Edited on December 6, 2006 at 9:57 PM. Would you go to a sports bar and restaraunt that did not allow smoking inside the building but provided a smoking area in the form of a covered deck?- depends, if it's like a prison playground that gets designated the "smoking area" with a door that locks behind you, then no.Do you smoke?-yesWhat type of nightly entertainment would sway your decision in which sports bar to go to?I don't go to dance clubs, so none of that crapI don't go to places with a dress code or a cover chargeWhat type of food would you prefer?- any type of apps would be good

You know, I went to a sports bar in Myrtle beach where they had several areas laid out with a bunch of couches directed towards one large tv (with the audio to where you could hear it) each with a different game. Theres nothing worse than going to a sports bar to see a game, and then having to squint to see little 19 tvs over the bar. I liked this layout because people could actually see the game they were watching, and it didnt feel so uninviting. It was like watching the superbowl at your friends house cause he had a nice setup. I don't normally go to sports bars, but I liked that one so much I would go if one like that came here.No smokingWINGSPerhaps a few decent beers such as Boddingtons and Blue Moon on draft, people are getting more refined in their tastes, and $3 Redneckweisers aren't gonna be a draw for more educated consumers with bigger tabs.
12/6/2006 10:05:22 PM
I'd go and spend time on that covered deck. Hell, I don't mind one bit if I have to go outside when I feel like smoking.
12/6/2006 10:11:18 PM
I don't smoke, but I don't care if it's there. It is nice though to come home later and not have to smell you're sheets up with smoke.Cheap wings, good pitcher prices, tv, and a bathroom. Preferably include all 3 in the same place so I don't have to move and it's gold baby.

Would you go to a sports bar and restaraunt that did not allow smoking inside the building but provided a smoking area in the form of a covered deck? Yes.Do you smoke? Not tobacco. What type of nightly entertainment would sway your decision in which sports bar to go to?The games on TV. If there are good games on, and I've got the $$ I'll hit a sportsbar. What type of food would you prefer?Everything. Wings, good burgers, good sandwiches, snackfood like nachos, cheese fries, ect. Any other questions of comments...More often than not, I choose to goto a sports bar because of the # of good tv screens they've got (HD, projection, ect) and the quality of the food. I hate going to a bar and smelling like smoke when I leave. Right now I like playmakers because the food is pretty fucking good, and there are a shit-ton of screens to watch. Good drink specials are important too. Pitchers are a must. Thanks.

Would you go to a sports bar and restaraunt that did not allow smoking inside the building but provided a smoking area in the form of a covered deck? Yes, but probably not to watch a game. Unless they had the game on out in the "smoker's porch".Do you smoke? YesWhat type of nightly entertainment would sway your decision in which sports bar to go to? Atmosphere, mostly. No pussy bandsWhat type of food would you prefer? Bar food. Apps/ Sandwiches / burgers / wingsAny other questions of comments... Would you go to a sports bar and restaraunt that did not allow smoking inside the building but provided a smoking area in the form of a covered deck?YesDo you smoke?No...unless I've been drinking very very heavily. I used to be a heavy smoker. What type of nightly entertainment would sway your decision in which sports bar to go to?Good beer selection, many quality TVs in all locations so that I can see the game. TVs showing multiple games. No entertainment neededWhat type of food would you prefer?Typical bar food...no need to get all fancy. Have a few lighter fare options like soups and salads, but again nothing fancy.Additional comments--one thing I love about Hi-5 is the TVs, especially the small ones in the booth--but I hate their menu. One thing I love about Edwards Mill is their food, but I will always reak of smoke when I leave. The only thing I love about Sammy's is the ridiculous amount of large TVs showing many games and the ability to have a speaker at your table, but I hate sammy's for the smoke and mediocre food. Jax is great, but it's way too small. I love Rudino's b/c of their outside deck (partially covered during the winter). Combine the things that are great about each place and have a heated (or cooled with fans in the summer) smoking section and I'll be there.[Edited on December 7, 2006 at 11:06 AM. Reason : ]

um, carolina ale house?anyway ...nolots of tv's, options, perhaps individual sound in boothsin a sports bar, bar food, nothing complicated, large beer variety
12/7/2006 12:06:22 PM
i see this failing mostly because most people wont be dedicated enough customers to only go to this one place, when all their friends who may smoke will say fuck it and go wherever else...its a good idea on paper, but stuff like this only works when an entire city bans indoor smoking, etc...and then it isnt because of the novel concept, it's because its city code
12/7/2006 12:08:31 PM
If you give me a little area where I can watch three hockey games a night, I'll go three times a week. The non-smoking part is just gravy on top.
12/7/2006 12:14:40 PM
yesno? I go to see the game with freinds, fuck entertainment stuffI prefer food that isn't fried
12/7/2006 12:24:14 PM
A non-smoking sports bar/restaurant? It would be the only place I'd ever go, especially if you also had trivia.NoThe ability to see different sporting events other than those traditionally prevalent in the US. The ability to see multiple games from multiple conferences, not just the ACC.Wings (but not breaded ones) would be nice. Good burgers and chicken/fish sandwiches. A good personal pizza would be a change. The rest is gravy. Something in addition to domestic beer would also be nice.
12/7/2006 2:14:04 PM
Yes, I would prefer it.Do you smoke? Nope.Theamount of games on, cute waitresses, BEER & FOOD SPECIALS (2.50 Bud Light drafts is NOT A SPECIAL!!!)What type of food would you prefer? Finger foods... But with maybe slightly different takes... like teriyaki wings, cheeze fries with rnach that isn't water!, some quality burgers....I really am driven, as most college crowds are, to places with good specials & a fun atmosphere. Drinks specials should be at least $1.50 for some kind of beer... and appetizer specials can be hard to come by as well.
12/7/2006 2:16:17 PM
I would, but agree with the person above that it should be a. heatedb. not prison.c. game should have at least one screen in that area. No, i dont smoke, but I have friends who do and will tag along when they want to sometimes. It's less the entertainment and the entire atmosphere/feel of a place that I care aboutTypical snack type bar food is good, keep the food reasonable yet tasty. I hate bars where all the food is like 2x what it is elswhere because they think you'll pay it when you're not sober and hungry.Maybe something else that other bars dont serve but is popular in the area. (dont ask me what).Honestly? Have a good beer selection, and good bartenders who can make a decent mixed drink. Keep the prices reasonable, and the atmosphere better than a dive, and less than some fancy ass lounge.

this is also a poor clientèle to survey if its the only one youre doing market research on because college kids are ultimately all about lowest common denominator, i know i was when i was in school, so all it will take is a couple drink special nights at other bars and bam, you're done

I don't like a meal, but something small that I can snack on throughout the game.
