for the last week or so, my dog has been having the occasional accident on the carpethe's a fairly old dog and hasn't had any problems like this ever beforei'd chock it up to old age but it came on real suddenly and has happened 5 times in the last week and a halfdo you think it is a vet-worthy problem/maybe a UTI or do age-related bladder problems come on suddenly like this?

I think it definitely merits a vet visit just to be safe. How old is fairly old?

12 i thinkmaybe 11, maybe 13he's a rescue so it's hard to be sureand i have to take one of my other dogs to the vet so i figured if someone thought it was worth checking out i'd haul along the pee dog

first step is to take to vet to rule out any medical conditions (UTI, incontinence, etc. ) then after that, you can work at it as a behavioral problem, but yes, take to a vet first

id def. bring him to the vet....being that old, having accidents may be a sign of something...

i'd take him to the vet... esp. if he seems to be in discomfort/pain when he's peeing...
