I am trying to set up a new webcam but I think I may have a networking problem. I've tried the camera with many IM services but the only one that I got to work was AOL, and I had to change my sign-in port to 23 to get it to work. Most IM services will not allow you to do this, so I was wondering if there was a network setting that would allow me to use my webcam with any IM service.

Thanks

sounds like your router/firewall is blocking the ports needed.

find out what ports the IM services use and open the ports on your router.. the reason 23 is working is the router may have the telnet port open for some reason (remote admin?)

^ok, that makes sense, but how do I check to see what port my IM service is using. For example, Yahoo Messenger does not allow you to change the port through their menus, so would I go about finding out what port it uses.

Thanks
