not too shabby

Where the hell did Ohio State come from?2 top 2 recruiting classes in a row?[Edited on December 2, 2006 at 12:43 AM. Reason : also, where are thier player rankings from? I have heard Beasly at #1, they have him at 7]
12/2/2006 12:41:51 AM
we have some young talent here already as well. picking up 2 (hopefully) solid players to throw in this mix..ill take it
12/2/2006 12:42:41 AM
If we land Jai Lucas I'm going to cream myself
12/2/2006 12:44:11 AM
what website is this from?
12/2/2006 12:54:42 AM
12/2/2006 1:05:43 AM
Jai Lucas is a long shot but our class is sick even without him
12/2/2006 1:09:46 AM
Lucas may not be as long of a shot as you think. I was positive JJ wouldnt sign with us when we first started talking about him, and look where that ended up. Plus, if you look at all of Jai's schools, the ones he has scheduled visits to all have met their point guard needs for next year. Thats the reason he hasnt verbal'd yet. I want Sidney to work some magic on him over christmas and see where this gets us. I actually like our chances with this kid.

UNC doesn't have a recruiting class. Is this because they are out of scholarships? wouldn't that mean if guys go pro they are screwed?
12/2/2006 1:17:39 AM
all of them cant leave....and yes
12/2/2006 1:18:39 AM
was wondering the same thing
12/2/2006 1:18:56 AM
I think they signed 6 in the 06 class
12/2/2006 1:20:15 AM
i think lucas would have signed somewhere by now if he wasn't seriously considering the pack.our situation is perfect for him. i'm gonna predict that we land him. no insider info, just my gut feeling.
12/2/2006 1:20:19 AM
dukes last class was a bust
12/2/2006 1:22:09 AM
I dont think he specifically held off signing b/c of NC State, but he DID hold off because all his top choices recruited PG's in front of him. He still has offers, but he wants to play. He's looking for a good situation to go into, and NC State just recently came into the picture.
12/2/2006 1:22:11 AM
12/2/2006 1:37:03 AM
Your only allowed to give out a total of 8 scholarships within 2 years so UNC basically maxed out this last year so hopefully a few will transfer or go pro and we will end up in a great situation
12/2/2006 1:41:24 AM
Oh no, UNC will have them as "Walk-Ons" and someone will pay their scholly under the table.
12/2/2006 1:43:20 AM
^would not doubt it
12/2/2006 1:47:50 AM
ive heard enough hype on mayo that you'd think he'd take SC higher than 7 by himselfperdue at 4 shocked me, they havent had a real good player since the Big Dog
12/2/2006 1:53:32 AM
did u get that album?
12/2/2006 1:56:59 AM
yeah its like at 63 percent downloaded from my boyim being the ultimate dumbass by staying up all night smoking when i got the LSAT at 8.30 in the morning, so ill have it on rotation till then
12/2/2006 2:02:04 AM
word
12/2/2006 2:08:42 AM
Purdue is going to become good under Matt Painter....he is a good coach.I am a little biased because I have meet him before, I believe he is originally from NC. Or at least I do know he was an assistant at Barton College.
12/2/2006 2:48:04 AM
Jai Lucas is looking for the perfect fit and somewhere that he can get alot of playing time........obviously, he hasnt found that yet since he hasnt committed and we're jumping on the scene now...........im thinking durin the spring signing period we could have another Top 50 signing on our hands
12/2/2006 3:20:59 AM
top 25 most likely
12/2/2006 3:27:55 AM
I'm mildly oblivious to details outside of the ACC. How the fuck does OSU get two classes back to back like this? I'm too lazy to see who is coaching them (if that is the reason).
12/2/2006 7:20:10 AM
thad matta at tosu...i think they already have 3 5 star recruits for the 2008 class
12/2/2006 7:44:00 AM
Makes me almost want to bring back the thread when we fired Herb that had 80% of TWWer's crying and whining that we'd be much worse off without Herb.
12/2/2006 8:22:12 AM
one of the things i like about havin sid & the new offense now (and this is not knocking herb, just an observation) is that we we land big recruits, like herb did a number of times, we'll actually get to see these guys play extensively before their sophomore or junior years. we might have some impact freshmen, rather than guys learning the system and keeping the far end of the bench warm.
12/2/2006 9:53:56 AM
im liking Sidney better all the time
12/2/2006 9:57:50 AM
i'll trust scout.comthanks thoughwhere's this from?
12/2/2006 10:28:47 AM
^^^^we never fired herb. i was pissed off when herb left because i wasn't sure who we'd end up with. as soon as lowe was announced i felt like we were in good hands and was no longer mad. this was before he got any recruits and before he won any games.[Edited on December 2, 2006 at 10:46 AM. I think the 5/8 rule got repealed last year.
12/2/2006 10:55:31 AM
i was at the mall last night and we walk into the gopack store and there sidney and the entire team are, in a meet and greet of sortsi should've been like, 'damn sidney, you've already been blazing up the recruiting trail'i wonder if this class is better than any class herb ever had numberswise
12/2/2006 11:06:11 AM
Scout.com has us at 19 this year. In 2005 we were 11 per scout. Hodges class was also Top 12 I believe but I can't find it..http://secure.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?Sport=2&pr_key=9371I completely forgot he was a PG but never played w/ the team..V Fells, McCauley, and Costner might have been Top 50.. they were all 4 and 5 *s...[Edited on December 2, 2006 at 11:27 AM. Reason : x]
12/2/2006 11:23:43 AM
if he lands Jai Lucas, that would possibly be 3 top50 players.....i would say that beats any class Herb brought in^costner and fells were top 50, mccauley was top 100[Edited on December 2, 2006 at 11:34 AM. Reason : .]
12/2/2006 11:25:44 AM
Boateng, Harden, McMillan and Kraidon Woods = sick class
12/2/2006 11:30:17 AM
Lucas has us at Low Interest, hasn't visited (did visit 4 other places), and hasn't been offered. I'd say it's a longshot from the articles I read that he comes here. Frankly, I look at his size and I'm skeptical he could play in the ACC. 5'9" 145? I'm bigger than that... He must be ridiculously quick. Plus I don't want to see his fucking father on the sidelines every game. I saw enough of that at Ok State...

Alot of people overlook Ced, B-rack and Gavin....Ced and B-rack were both top50 and Grant wasn't far off the top-50 himself. In my opinion, that may have been Herb's best class here in terms of talent. The Hodge class was great in that he brought in a lot of really good players but none were the caliber of Ced, B-rack and Gavin except Hodge of course.Anybody know if we are still offering Ty Walker for 2008? It seems everyone is saying we're going after a guard but I remember us offering him. Has that changed?[Edited on December 2, 2006 at 11:48 AM. Reason : .]
12/2/2006 11:46:30 AM
^Yeah...I can't believe I forgot about that class.Ced was easily top 50, top 30 in some rankings. UNC and Wake definitely wanted in on him, but Herb reeled him in really early...I think we got a commitment at the beginning of his junior year.Grant was consistently top 50-60. I think Brackman moved from the top 100 to around 60 by the time he was finished with his senior. Very good class.

ps: if we beat UVA tomorrow....damn we're gonna start turning some heads
12/2/2006 12:22:00 PM
people will be turning their heads thinking, WTF is wrong with virginia?
12/2/2006 12:24:58 PM
we wont though
