this needs to be our #1 target (if cowher's completely out of the picture). has a national title ring as OC from LSU, young, energetic, one hell of a recruiter and ready to be the main man somewhere. he'd probably keep several guys from our current staff - portee, cignetti, stroud, and dixon (i'm sure they know each other from recruiting battles down in the SEC) among others.

11/29/2006 5:11:19 PM
i would like jimbo before pj
11/29/2006 5:18:02 PM
the first post in this thread isn't exactly groundbreaking...
11/29/2006 5:26:30 PM
well dont post in it buddy, that other thread ain't nothin but a mess. i hope we reach some sort of agreement with jimbo within the next few days. let him coach the rest of the year and be here soon after the first of the year.[Edited on November 29, 2006 at 5:28 PM. Reason : 1]
11/29/2006 5:27:34 PM
perfect name for a coach who will be at the most redneck school in the state
11/29/2006 5:28:34 PM
i wonder if he's a fisher?
11/29/2006 5:34:30 PM
i think i heard somewhere he has a hot wife
11/29/2006 5:35:17 PM
11/29/2006 5:46:21 PM
is his wife Betty White on the left or light socket hair-do chick on the right?
11/29/2006 6:01:30 PM
i agree, jimbo impressed me the most from the analysis in the technician today. I also think cowher is out of the question. He has SEC experience, arguably the best league in the country, and an offensive mind is just what we need. Not to mention he's relatively young so we can keep him for awhile, unlike chow who is about amato's age and we'd only get about 5 years from him
11/29/2006 6:46:45 PM
^or he could just use us as a stepping stone to a bigger name school. either way as long as he wins i dont mind.
11/29/2006 6:49:07 PM
i would band the piss out of that old chick
11/29/2006 6:52:59 PM
how old is amato, because chow is 60+
11/29/2006 7:04:31 PM
Amato is 60 i think
11/29/2006 7:07:40 PM
^ yup he's right at 60
11/29/2006 7:40:56 PM
11/29/2006 8:10:30 PM
NOYou can't take him from LSU, you already stole Monte Towe from UNO you guys have met quota for coaches from Louisiana
11/29/2006 8:32:47 PM
you guys?
11/29/2006 9:00:32 PM
fisher would be good. never know how well a great coordinator will turn out as a head coach though. he would be my 1b behind Johnson but I still would by very happy to have him. Great recruiter.
11/29/2006 9:03:05 PM
I think jimbo would be a great hire
11/29/2006 9:07:13 PM
^^^ I meant that as in, the same people who were calling for Towe to come back to NCSU now wanting Jimbo Fisher to leave LSU for NCSU.You guys.or, put another way, you people.
11/29/2006 9:56:22 PM
I agree, I like Jimbo Fisher as our #1 target
11/29/2006 10:02:49 PM
I put Jimbo Fisher right behind Mike Sherman
11/29/2006 10:14:02 PM
How do we know this guy won't be another Amato as far as discipline?
11/29/2006 10:45:12 PM
I've been interested in getting Fisher since I first saw his name thrown in the mix and saw the list of his credentials. If we can get a solid DC to join him I think we'd be set.
11/29/2006 11:24:27 PM
From what i've heard, if Fisher comes then he would bring the DC from Auburn. If that's the case then we could be set.
11/30/2006 5:00:56 PM
With Cowher out of the picture, we should hire Jimbo NOW.I strongly disagree with taking a knee-jerk reaction and going for the opposite of Amato simply because he didn't work out. The fact that he doesn't have HC experience does NOT mean that he isn't the best candidate with the biggest upside. All indications about Jimbo are that he isn't just a recruiter, he can flat out coach, he has big game experience at the top level of college, and I believe he will address both sides of the football.

11/30/2006 5:09:34 PM
If it really is true about fisher and the dc from auburn then let's save ourself the embrassment of another coaching search and sign him right now.
11/30/2006 5:13:36 PM
whered you hear that, anyway
11/30/2006 5:14:12 PM
fisher made a statement to the media saying that he would love the job and if he took it then his buddy Will Muschamp, the dc at auburn, would be coming with him
11/30/2006 5:31:54 PM
I was hoping that Fowler could get an actual HC, somebody with experience on getting young gollege kids walking a straight line.
11/30/2006 5:35:26 PM
^^link? Or did you just hear it somewhere?
11/30/2006 5:40:08 PM
^^^ that'd be pretty sweet, HC experience or no. Especially if he's already expressed interest in the job, we don't end up like we did in the spring looking like the ugly desperate kid at the high school dance (and thats not a knock on sid, but we were made to look like fools for a few weeks there).[Edited on November 30, 2006 at 5:41 PM.
